"While visiting the gardens we called for lunch. Lunch is served 12.00 -2.30pm. It is not very clear that you order at the counter, queue’s build up because the same counter is used to make your drinks and serve cakes. We ordered and our meals were brought to our table quickly. My husband chose the jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise, I had the jacket potato with cheese and our daughter the Quiche, new potatoes and coleslaw. We then had scone and jam and coffee and hazelnut cake. All of our meals and cakes were very fresh. There is a small amount of indoor seating and some seating outside. It is very small considering it’s popularity."

A super eatery with freshly cooked food. Loved the macoroni cheese. Well worth a visit when exploring the beautiful Hidcote Gardens.

We enjoyed the special lunches-quiche x2 and steak pie x2 efficient service and very tasty- went back for fresh scones and cup of tea later.

Had Steak Ale pie and Chicken Vegetable one pot, absolutely gorgeous for face standard, prefect filling dish after a long walkabout in the garden!

The restaurant offers a wide variety of food options, ranging from sandwiches to full hot meals. Delicious biscuits and cakes are also available, along with fantastic cheese scones. The outdoor courtyard is a lovely place to dine when the weather is nice.

You choose your table, note the number, then queue to order. I'm busy times the queue snakes outdoors and the board explaining that is hidden. So some people get to the counter and have no idea of what's on offer and have no table number. Others are sitting at tables waiting for service ... But the food is good! And for a NT place good value. I recommend the one pot meals. There are many outdoor tables, and plenty of indoor ones. Beware, I was stung by a wasp whilst there!

No reviews since 2019? Hmmm.... After a morning strolling around the truly lovely gardens here, Winthrop's is a great place to grab a drink and something to eat. Although the menu is limited, it all seems to be homemade and is very reasonably priced. The cafe is a nice place to sit and enjoy your meal, and there's an attractive terrace for warmer days. At peak times, the queues can be quite long and service seems a little slow, and when we visited a touch chaotic, but these are minor quibbles. Voir le carte

During our visit to the gardens, we decided to stop for lunch at this restaurant. The menu had a variety of hot meals that all seemed homemade and delicious. The chicken one pot was filled with fresh vegetables, the baked potato was soft and fluffy, and the egg mayo rolls were a generous portion. The ordering process was a bit confusing as the tills were in a cramped area causing customers to mingle instead of forming a proper queue. However, the service was quick and efficient, and we were overall impressed with our experience.

How can a National Trust cafe get this so very wrong. It was a disaster! No system appeared to be in place other than saying get a table, remember table number and come and order. People simply didn’t know what to do where was the board information to say what was on the menu? Customers were reliant and being told by others who had worked it out. Then 2 staff serving!! The queue was out the door. Crazy system of working. There was absolutely no flow, customers cannot see what’s on offer clearly, and it was so frustrating. Come on NT, you can and must do so much better than this.

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
