Standards have really slipped the chips tasted like dried out cardboard; disgusting service especially paying £27 for the privilege; won’t be using them ever again !!!

The worst fish and chip shop in Chingford, ordered a takeaway and again, for the second time, received over cooked brown chips. They would not replace unless I collected, what was the point of a delivery!! Penny pinching, will never use them again. Voir le carte

Superb Fish n chips tonight. Unlike any other London chippies I know, Wilsons is super fresh chunks of white tasty succulent cod enrobed in a light thin batter that showcases the cod rather than imprisoning it in a thick hard batter. Fish and chips used to be a reasonably priced family meal . Not anymore. Wilson’s have put up their prices again over past couple of months. Rock and chips for 2 now £21 ! A couple of months ago it was £19 even that was expensive. The fish portions and chips are small and chips are soggy. The fish we had today had a weird smell and wasn’t fresh. Was going to take back but wasn’t worth the petrol so went in bin. We’ve voted with our feet for future f&cs.

I am stuck for words but I’m going to give it a shot anyway. I am from Manchester visiting family in Loughton. I asked if we could have a chippy tonight and they recommended that we get a takeaway from Wilsons. I know my food and this has got to be one of the tastiest portions of Chips Curry I have ever experienced. To top it off the customer service was 5 star which made the experience even better. I have been a regular customer of Wilson’s for a few years but the quality of the food has gradually deteriorated and the prices are now ridiculous given the quality. On the last two occasions I have had items missing from my order! It should not be necessary to rifle through the bag to make sure I have chips to go with my fish before leaving the shop! There are much better fish and chip shops locally at more reasonable prices so I will be giving Wilson’s a miss in the future.

How people queue for this place is beyond me! Fish mediocre at best and chips soggy!! When they first opened the chips were OK. The fish has always been poor. I use this place once in a blue moon and only when in a rush. No more visits from me . Staff act as if they are above the customer which is amazing given the crap served up. Sams down the road) actually have better fish and are far more friendly plus serve bigger portions. I actually am not worried about the size of the portion but more so the quality. Honestly try other places because this place is going from bad to worse!

Unfortunately, this is no longer the best fish and chip shop in the area. The quality and size of the fish and chip portions have changed for the worse over the last couple of years. My visit a couple of weeks ago finally made my mind up that it would be my last, which is sad because I have been a loyal customer for many years. The cod was small and covered in an oily soggy batter. The chips were poor and tasted like they had been sitting around for quote sometime.
