Good choice of pub favourites/specials and selection of beers with good service and nice ambience.

The atmosphere and surroundings at the restaurant were nice. The food was not exceptional, but it was tasty.

This was my mother’s 80th birthday. She was absolutely delighted with the venue, atmosphere and food. We were pleased to feel almost secluded which allowed us to have our intimate family do. The food, service and venue delighted us all as a family. Thank you.

Only concern was that we booked for 8.45pm, arrived at 8.50 and were told that the kitchen was closing, they would serve us only if we ordered immediately and they said they do not accept reservations for 8.45pm, despite the app offering that! Food was good pub grub but experience was hurried

Consistent excellent service, food, and attitude at this restaurant. The menu provides a variety of options that will satisfy almost every diner. The desserts are uniquely delicious and always prepared to perfection. The staff's positive attitude is always a joy to experience, and they handle any issue with ease.

We had booked a table for three for late Saturday afternoon to celebrate my Mum's birthday. We arrived at the same time as a rugby team turned up. Even though the place was swarming with people we were still served very quickly. The food was great very well presented and the service was excellent. We had a thoroughly good time. I would recommend The Wheatsheaf to anyone.

We have met here with friends and family a couple of times for several years, it always lives up to expectations and our recent visit was no exception. It is always very busy which I think is a recommendation in itself, the food is very good with a varied menu to choose from and the staff are extremely obliging and helpful. What is also very good is it is very child friendly and for us it was nice to be able to take our little dog without feeling out of place. In the summertime the outside seating and play area is a great bonus also being able to book online makes life easier as well. Finally The Wheatsheaf is in a very pretty area.

When booking for Sunday lunch we we given only two times 12 or 2. On arriving at the pub at 11.50 were disappointed that the pub did not open til 12 and the doors were locked. It was raining very hard and despite people knocking on the door it was not opened. The light at our table was a little gloomy, could have done with a brighter lamp. The Sunday roast was nice however there was not enough gravy (which came in a small gravy boat and the staff were so busy it was difficult to attract their attention. Waited ages for coffee at the end of the meal. Staff were very friendly and polite. As we came from distance not sure we would go back.
