The Old Chapel - Carte

My wife and I went to this restaurant for breakfast and we each had a sausage sandwich, which was delicious and piping hot. The coffee was also excellent, as always!

Had scrambled eggs on toast and miners Benedict with coffee twice and excellent value and quality food. Do not know how they do it for the price particularly as free refills

We’ve been here loads for drinks ok as a kinda start off bar ! We decided to go down for breakfast how good! ? We had large brekkie and mushroom muffin with Hollandaise sauce both were fab service fast and friendly . Coffe not bad either defo will be returning. Voir le carte

Appalling staff who are very rude to customers. Aggressive and uncomfortable environment not made any better by the bar staff speaking to customers like they are dirt and slamming drinks down. will definitely never step foot in this pub again. Disgusting treatment to the public.

Very rude waitress slammed my plate down, said theres your food , and walked over to a bunch of lads who seemed to know her. Complained to the manager who totally backed her up, said that his cctv camera had seen the incident even though he wasnt there. Small town with an attitude of not caring too much for outsiders. Beautiful building let down by unprofessional staff.

I have been to this restaurant multiple times and I have to commend the staff, as well as the delicious food and drinks. The fish is always cooked perfectly and the curries are excellent. The breakfast options are plentiful and the prices are unbeatable. The building is lovely and the toilets are kept super clean. Overall, this restaurant is doing a great job and I hope they continue to keep up the good work. Voir le carte

Awfull, I used to work in this pub and thought it was a safe friendly place to go for a beer with my wife and daughter, only to be harressed by the door staff repeatedly over my 19 year old daughter as she didn't have I'd with her, I was told she couldn't drink and the pubs licsence was at stake, wich is complete nonsence as her age would have been confirmed by any liscenismg agency after looking into it, made to feel very uncomfortable so much so we left after being approached several times over. Will not be returning and giving them any more of our money, sorry tim looks like your staff are umdectated, amd completely unaware of current laws. I thought this was a familly pub!

Darwen is a lovely town but unfortunately gets ignored by Blackburn with Darwen Council. Wetherspoons, The Old Chapel is a lovely clean pub. I rarely go for an alcoholic beverage but do go for the breakfast. I generally go early in the day and it is always lovely and clean. The staff are all lovely and friendly. The Darwen Wetherspoons is superior to the Blackburn pub and you do get lots of family and couples going for their breakfast, tea or coffee, or their lunch. Called in for a quick drink whilst in Darwen. Don’t know if it’s because it’s in an old chapel or the people of Darwen but this was the most refined Weatherspoons we’ve been in not noisy no one appeared to have drunk too much. It is really lovely inside the ladies toilets were gorgeous spotless hubby said much the same about the gents. We sat upstairs as I can’t get on the high stools/booth seats downstairs was pretty full. For me another bonus was that the ladies were downstairs (only other Weatherspoons I’ve been in were this was case is in Liverpool BUT very long walk too them i.e. after gents disabled although this is common in most pubs don’t pubs realise that women have a shorter ureth...
