"Visited today for a carvery and must say it was the worst carvery I have ever visited, previously visited a number of years ago and it has changed massively.. Food was terrible, cold yorkshire puddings, veg very poor quality, over done and very mushy overall very bland and tasteless The gravy was terrible not sure you could even call it gravy to be honest. Service was very poor, served people first who where seated after us, never once come to see if everything was OK in the end we left majority of food and paid the bill which was wrong but paid anyway. Outside of building very run down safe to say really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend wont be visiting again!"

The petrol station in Saudi Arabia that serve road kill, had more atmosphere and the food had more flavour.

Had Sunday day lunch today with my mother and daughter...food was really good..very good service too Pub was busy but not crowded ...would recommend

Great pub food. Black Sheep kept beautifully. The Landlord is a real character. We were very well looked after. We visited on a quiet weekday evening, hence the 3 stars for atmosphere. Don't be put off by this it is, after all, a country pub with little built up area nearby.

Have been here a few times now for Sunday lunch and I have to say the food has been lovely every time. Veg and meat are always cooked freshly and perfect and gravy is very tasty. Only criticism is gravy could be a bit thicker. Staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble, even for fussy eaters like myself.

I can honestly say that me and my partner had 2 of the best Parmo's we have ever had anywhere, which came with lovely chips and a dressed salad ! They were absolutely gorgeous and tasty , currently at a special price of £8 ! Pretty big they are too ! We took the dog and he didnt get as much as he normally does because I ate the lot !

Me and partner Went here earlier in year .enjoyed the food then .this time there was 9 of us plus 3 dogs .booked day before came to our table for 9 and had the Sunday carvery .Ian and staff looked after us the chef cut the meat like we was having last meal very large portions ,everyone enjoyed there’s plus the staff were very attentive .beef turkey pork ,6 different vegs roasters mash Yorkshire puddings various sauces apple cranberry horse raddish .gravy boats were brought out nice touch ,asked for more and we got .my friends were all filled and happy thanks to all the staff and we will vist again
