Yesterday, we visited this restaurant to enjoy the sunny weather. We decided to sit outside and ordered the fish and chips. The portion was very large and definitely worth the wait. I would love to come back and try it again sometime.

Tables weren't set up properly, my niece and I had to move furniture ourselves and lay up the correct number of place settings. Food was good but the event was ruined by sloppy management and lack of empathy to the occasion. Would definitely not recommend booking for an event etc

We loved the food. My sea bass was cooked perfectly, crispy skin and all ,yum. Jackie’s pork medallions and mash were in a delicious sauce. Chapel down three graces excellent moussey fizz. Soup was good too. Nina was a great waitress. But all a bit quiet today, so no ambience . Entrance needs improvement

The restaurant is beautiful and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. We ordered the seasonal pre-Christmas lunch, which was amazing - the portions were large, the food was hot, tasty, and well presented. The restaurant is dog-friendly, as is the entire hotel. We will definitely be staying here in the future.

We were in Folkstone for the day and stopped her for a meal before going to see a show at Leas Hall which is quite nearby. Connor greeted us at the bar and served us drinks. He was from Margate where we live so we shared stories about the changes and living in the same town. I ordered the Tex burger and my husband had the Serloin Steak. The food came quickly and was cooked to perfection. Thank you Connor for a great service and compliments to the chef...Will definitely come back if visiting Folkstone again

We ordered a High Tea and a Gentleman's Tea as part of a celebration and we were amazed at the quantity and quality of the food we were given. If you are going to opt for the Gentleman's Tea be advised , you'll probably need elasticated waist trousers if you plan on eating everything. The scotch egg (about the size of a cricket ball) was amazing and the homemade chilli jam that accompanied the cheese scone was superb. However, it's not just the food that makes this place so special it's the management and staff too who really do take pride in the work and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We will be regular customers Thank you Earls.

Excellent food as usual. The plates were hot (hooray! Two had confit of duck which was served with beans, carrots and a potato dauphineuse(? . Extra roast potatoes were offered together with red cabbage and extra gravy. Others had roast pork and roast beef with seasonal vegetables (parsnip, cauli, and broccoli together with a pig-in-blanket, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. As the food was freshly prepared we had to wait a lengthy time but we were talking so it wasn't too bad. There was a lack of staff but we were the only table when we had booked early so again not a problem. I like the friendly atmosphere and the quiet so you can have a discussion. Upon arriving at the restaurant at the scheduled time, we were informed by the person working at the bar that they were closed and not serving any food. This was a humiliating situation, as I had explained that I had made a booking over the phone. I was questioned about who I had spoken to, which made me feel like I was being accused of lying. If I had been informed that the restaurant was closed when I called, I would have made alternate arrangements for my husband's birthday celebration. Having often dined at Earls in the past we booked what we expected was the Sunday carvery for a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday. We were met by only 1 member of staff who was serving meals, serving drinks to diners, manning the bar and clearing the tables. Apparently other staff had not turned up due to a family emergency. Obviously service was extremely slow but give Nina credit she soldiered on in the face of adversity and did a magnificent job, all with a smile on her face whilst being extremely polite.
