"Our takeaway last Saturday night was not of the standard expected from the Village Inn at Tillycoultry. This was always our place to-go-to for a Chinese but the recent change of ownership has seen a drop in quality and we may look elsewhere, unless the quality improves. Basically the pork was a bit fatty and the outer batter undercooked. The sweet and sour sauce was too thick and gluttonous, and the fried rice had an unfamiliar taste to it. We phoned them to complain and the girl at the counter promised to pass on our comments."

I used to love coming to this restaurant, but recently it has really gone downhill. The chicken is tough like rubber and the fried rice was inedible, unfortunately. The delivery was fast, I must admit. The drivers were pleasant, but I think they need a new chef.

I have tried multiple Chinese takeout restaurants in Clackmannshire, but I always come back to the Village Inn. Why? It's simple - the food is excellent, well-prepared, and very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. I know people who travel from other towns just to dine at this place. Voir le carte

Since the restaurant is closed for almost a year or so does the food in this pizzeria is in decline. There was food to take last Friday, curry chicken was bad, fried rice was very bad and fries were nasty, obviously fried in oil to fry old. never ask for another carry out from this place, there is much better food to carry than this place.

This restaurant has undergone some changes, and unfortunately it has not been for the better. The prawn toast was greasy and overcooked, and the chicken was in cubes instead of sliced, indicating that it was likely frozen. The chop suey lacked vegetables and had too much MSG. This was my second time dining here since the change in management, and it will also be my last. I used to be a regular customer, but after this disappointing experience, I had to throw away my meal.

"Had been recommended this by a friend who said he had visited regularly last year so thought we would give it a go! Overall really disappointing experience and we won’t be back even with the offer of a free breakfast! We entered the cafe which was fine, took our seat and my husband went and ordered. All good and easy enough. we ordered a breakfast, scrambled egg on toast, poached egg on toast with a side of veggie haggis x 2. When it came out there was no veggie haggis on one when my husband said to the server we had ordered it she rudely said you didn’t order that you only asked for one, when he explained what he said she said you never and I haven’t charged you. My husband went and paid for a side of veggie haggis and the same women then said abruptly to the kitchen, that man never ordered that. She told us it would be three mins, at least ten mins passed and everyone was finished their breakfast except me who was waiting on my veggie haggis whilst my poached eggs and toast went cold. My husband went up to ask about it and she told us it wasn’t even cooking yet, he got a refund for the haggis and came back to the table, the eggs by this point were cold so we took it back up and again the same rude women said, is there a problem abruptly! We asked for a refund and another lady apologised and offered a free one next time. She was nice enough but didn’t make up for the other terrible member of staff who clearly sees customers as an inconvenience! Other than that we found some annoyances. We got fresh orange juice, advertised as Folkingtons fresh orange at £3.45, what is actually available is princes 200ml carton of fresh orange which you pay 60p for. Also as a side note, why do you send scrambled egg on toast etc out with a side of butter, are we supposed to scrape the mound of egg off to put butter on before putting the egg back on? Won’t be back purely down to the worst customer service I have ever experienced!"
