"what? a terrible experience? pray it. restaurant will be busy, so if they just want to get to the off chance, we could be able to put them in. the location is completely empty. Anyway, in the first conversation with the staff., there will be a waiting time as we occupied down. no problem, we will admire the prospects. drinks and meals ordered. then the experience begins. steak's understated. false guides served the hand cutting chips, anemic and inedible. foods returned, only to be burned again, beyond the recognition. Now, it says on the menu carburized, because it cooked on a grill! godliness comes in the sense. oh and sometimes the steak is less rare in the middle, as we cannot check everyone. ah and the handcut chips? now they are not completely hand-cut, but made by a knife and then frozen and we take them out and cook them? they are uncooked on the inside!? well, it is the kartoffels that they see it is what the suppliers send us, but if they are unhappy, I will see to take a few pounds for the chips away! fillet steak has taken off the bill as she did not eat it? I hear you cry, what a nice gesture. unfortunately it wasn't to be. because I had asked and the bottle wein should be taken as goodwill, I had not expected that the sirloin steak, that was £4 cheaper to be removed! unnecessary to say bill returned. after my first visit on the island would I recommend this restaurant? absolutely not!"

Excellent food, service and location. Very friendly staff. Spent one evening on island but would liked another one. Good choice of food, with good presentation.

My partner and I booked a table here for 8.15pm. We waited an hour and 5 mins for our starters. When the mussels arrived for my main, 60% of them were shrivelled up in their shells. They had obviously sat too long before being served....The waitress was apologetic, it wasn't her fault. We probably wouldn't go back.

An unpretentious hotel restaurant offering traditional and inventive menu options. The Victoria is a survival from an earlier era. It must have been very elegant in its day. During our stay on Rothesay, we visited the Victoria two times and were not disappointed. The service...was excellent, and the was food delicious. Great View!

we chose this place for our evening meal, it was above ghilles, but I think it is guided by the same people. we got a window table that had a great landscape, from the menu was much to choose, we had. the dead and the flesh was very tender. the tables were distributed in social distance. I would recommend booking to make sure they get a table

Arrived without a booking but it was early on a Sunday evening Despite being told there was a table available, we were shown to a sitting area. Thereafter ignored until we decided that there were plenty of other options in Rothesay and left. No menus,...drink, update or even recognition. Shame, as it had been recommended by a local. Customer service must try harder

when I go to a hotel restaurant, I do not expect a pub grub menus or I expect plastic towels. the starter of my wife was avacardo prawns, but with extremely limited avacardo; my starter was muskeln in the sauce, and the muscles were decided ify . that said my mission was excellent. if it comes to wee, I would hope to be offered a wider choice, then red or white overall i was very underwhelmed and the to pay £75:00 for a very indifferent meal for two served in a room in a total decoration

Located in the main hotel and upstairs from the Ghillie's restaurant with which it shares a kitchen, the Victoria Hotel restaurant offers diners superb sea views and a nice upmarket dining experience. Our family of three had a very nice meal with a delicious cherry...Tomato Fresh Basil Bruschetta (with Balsamic Glaze), followed by Surf Turf (6oz Rump Steak Scampi), Seared Pan Fried Sea Bass and a Spaghetti Carbonara. The Bruschetta was absolutely delicious and the Surf Turf and Sea Bass were also well received. The Spaghetti Carbonara was a different story as it was way too creamy and the bacon' was more akin to lumps of tinned luncheon meat and were quite a few off-putting fatty lumps. I no...

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
