"The restaurant offers reasonably priced food, but it appears to be reheated or cooked from frozen, rather than freshly prepared. The slow service, even during quiet times, was a red flag. We became concerned about hygiene after experiencing stomach issues and peeking into the kitchen from a side door. We noticed that food was being brought in from a back lane across the street, potentially indicating a kitchen or storage area there. This unconventional practice raised hygiene concerns. Several other reviews have mentioned similar issues, confirming our suspicions. Despite a good concept, the restaurant suffers from poor management and execution."

Fantastic food as always. Highly recommended authentic cuisine and does not fail to impress. Lots of choice too for vegetarians and vegans

Delicious Masala Dosa and Bhatura. Dosa was so crispy! Best one yet. Fast service with a smile and a bag of takeaways Samoa for later. Would highly recommend a visit.

Stopped in on our way back home and had a delicious meal here. Such tasty food, kind and attentive service. Gentle building heat, really nice dips and the sambar is amazing! Would highly rev

Went there for dinner, food was OK not as good as expected and the Dosa was soggy rather than crisp. The strange thing is they only sell wine by the bottle not by the glass. When questioned they said they were too busy Odd

Came because of the reputation, but left very disappointed. Seemed like the onion bhajis had been microwaved so were more like muffins, while the tofu was rubbery and squishy and when you pressed it, water and oil oozed out of it so totally inedible. Didn't eat the tofu and complained, so thought they would take it off the bill but was still on there when we came to pay. Won't be coming again.

I started eating at the Vegetarian Food Studio when it wasn't in even in it's current premises. That is quite some time ago. On my most recent visit I went for my old favourite a Dosa. The Sambar that accompanied the Dosa was beautiful as was the coconut chutney. The menu is so vast that you'll never get tired of visiting. The owner and his family and staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. It's also great to see, on a big board at the front of the Restaurant, all the awards the Vegetarian Food Studio has won over the years.

The older lady serving us had an awful attitude. There was a long black/grey hair in my food that clearly did not belong to anyone at our table. When I complained, she adamantly claimed it was not from their establishment. Upon further examination, I noticed several similar loose hairs on her person. When I pointed this out, we were asked to leave. We gladly left as no one was satisfied with their meals. As we were putting on our coats, she brought over the bill for the meals we were ordered to leave. Additionally, the table was sticky. I would recommend avoiding this place.

First time eating here after always hearing fab things! Didn’t know what to choose so was recommend the Gujarati Thali! It did not disappoint, far too much for one person so do make sure you share! We also ordered the potato bhajis and hot moto (ridiculously hot! This dish was a brilliant introduction to veggie cuisine and lots of dishes to try! The only reason not 5 out if 5 was the price of drinks and his long it took to bring them to table! Very expensive for what was selected (Diet Coke, milkshake and juice and we all had soft drinks! Overall lovely lunch experience, nice and cool venue with friendly service!

"cafe citta is a tiny little restaurant that is worn away and is very inconspicuous. if they have not made extensive food research, they might miss it at the end because it looks impressing from the outside. I recommend to them however to go an effort because if they are looking for authentic Italian food in cardiff, cafe citta should definitely do on their list! atmosphere: it is a very small restaurant with barely walking. the tables are small and crampy, so when they come with more than 3 people, I recommend to them a booking well in advance. but despite being small, the decoration is really charming. it felt more like going into someone's living room than a real restaurant! there were flowers each table with beautiful wooden tables, whose table legs were decorated in very ornate style, and cool paintings on the wall as well! customer service: excellent, could not be better. not only the personal friendly, but they were also very attentive and made sure that our table was well clarified without having to say anything at all! Food: that was excellent. as an appetizer we had the caprese, which was fresh buffalo mozzarella with a beautiful sauce and fresh tomato. the mozzarella was fantastic and really very fresh. we also ordered the polenta al ragu and the bolognese soße, which accompanied the polnta was fantastic! for a pornstar, I ordered the pollo alla romana, which was a whole chicken breast with sage, parma ham, and a side of kartoffel and salat boiled. we also had a garlic pizza to share. they gave us chili oil and parmesan on the side for extra spices. everything was great! I am usually not too excited to order chicken breast in a restaurant, but it was extremely juicy I didn't know that chicken breast could be so tender! there were great aromas everywhere. the only negatiw is that I recommend to give them the garlic pizza. it was quite bland and needed half a quantity of chili oil and parmesan to save it. overall I recommend cafe citta. next time, I would try one of her pasta dishes, how my partner swept over his tagliatelle carbonara!"
