Vatersay Community Hall Cafe

A very welcome refreshment place in this absolutely beautiful island. We visited twice, first for coffee cake (delicious chocolate orange) then for tea and a sandwich.

Delightful. Housed in a sympathetically designed, modern building in a beautiful location close to the beach. Friendly and efficient service. Go if only for the cakes.

A lovely cafe with gorgeous cakes. They also had some gluten free options but not as many as usual as they were soon to be closing for the season. A lovely stop after our cycle from Castlebay.

Just a shame I didn't fancy one having eaten the biggest breakfast I've ever been served that morning! Excellent location at the start of Hebridean Way with two fantastic beaches in walking distance.

This café is a cozy spot with delicious food and both outdoor and indoor seating. The view outside is heavenly. Just make sure not to stay too late, as it closes early in the afternoon. I enjoyed a large piece of Malteser tablet... so yummy!

The place was recommended so wanted to try it as we we’re visiting the island. It provided lovely light meals and wonderful cake. It sits between to beaches, both beautiful. One for swimming on the quiet side and one for surfing on the wild side....Beautifully situated.

Well organised cafe run by a team of hard working young people. Simple fare, well done. Prompt service on Jubilee weekend despite being busy. Enjoyed cheese and onion toasties served with salad, coleslaw and crisps. Generous pot of tea. Resisted tempting-looking choice of cakes and...tray bakes but went back for more tea after beach walk.

A visit to this restaurant is a must if you are in Vatersay. It is located on the east beach, perfect for a swim, and has shower and toilet facilities. The café offers delicious cakes and coffee. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash as they do not have a mobile signal or broadband. You can withdraw money from the RBS and post office in Castlebay if needed, as the cash machine there is broken.

this was a welcome sight after having made a walk from the island vatersay. many lunch and cake selection is great, but what was really impressed was the coffee! all three of us in my party had a laugh and they did not disappoint. really. good coffee! the personal was really friendly and had a good chat with them. taste the chocolate and orange cake and impress with the size of the portion and the orange filling in the cake was delicious. toilets very clean worth noting the toilets on the building that the public toilets are actually opened before the caffe that was a diviner for us, as we got the early bus of barra and were there just after ten clock and were in the position to use the faci...
