"During our recent visit to Hamburg we visited Vapiano for the first time. The best that can be said is that the venue is very large, but built in an industrial motiv and is largely frequented by employees who work around the neighborhood. The theme is a number of stations which specialize in difference types of food. My grand-son and I chose Pizza which was prepared according to our desires and presented much the same way as Fast Food is provided in North America within about ten minutes. My Wife and niece chose pasta dishes which took a bit longer. The food was OK but certainly not notably tasty with additional info that the pasta was of a card board consistency. No great shakes. My Pizza was quite spicy which I appreciated but again, no great shakes. Prices were moderate and we quickly found marginally comfortable seating. This is not a step up from MacDonalds or Burger King which we shy away from when in Europe. If you are in a hurry try it but you don't have to like it."

The best Ceasar salad, possible to use small and full size. It's okay with tomato soup. And Dessert is worth a try. The lunch time may be overcrowded.

Good place for Italian cuisine lovers. The pasta and salad are prepared in right front of you with all fresh ingredients. The ambiance is very good with a spacious area.

Went here on a rainy sunday for some food. Selfservice so you know what you Get and that IT is not a romantic restaurant. For fast and average Italias food IT works i guess.

One of the best Italian restaurant chains available especially the pasta is worth the try.The specialty of the place is that the pastas are made freshly and you can see the chef cook it and can let them know your order yourself. The ambience is good and it is really nice place for meetups of any sorts.

An excellent Italian place at affordable prices. Pasta is a really delicious, extravagant and a mouthful feast. Pizza is spectacular and very close to the original Italian style. The drinks are cold and the food is hot. The ambience is perfect for a romantic trip. Also the lights are a bit on the eye level, so it could be a little disturbing.

I am a chef and in my opinion the food is average here, I had slightly higher expectations! The order system is very impractical when with a group as everyone has to order individually and each meal is made to order in front of you. so who ever orders first has to wait until the last persons meal is ready and by that time the food is cold! Friendly staff and beautiful restaurant though.

The restaurant is located hardly 2-3 min walk from the Altona Station and from IKEA in Altona. There is live counter. The concept is interesting as you are given a card at the entrance. You order at the live counter and bill is loaded on this card which you then pay at the counter on exit. The food is Italian food with several options of Pasta. The rates are also reasonable. The seating area is quite open. Enjoyed the visit

The food was nice when it eventually came but we could not understand the logic behind the queueing and ordering system, which meant we had to queue for 20 minutes for food and then another 10 minutes separately for drinks. We were also then unable to eat together due to the different timings which was the point of the visit. Staff very slow and disorganised. A shame because with better organisation it would be a good restaurant.
