Popped in to here for the first time today as we had shopped there before but never been upstairs to the café . The Watering Hole . What a delight !! 2 of us had a large cooked breakfast and one had Beans on toast...

Had a really enjoyable gluten free afternoon tea. Had to book in advance but not a problem. Came with a selection of sand which fillings, two scones and three different cakes. Also had a nice tea selection. Very reasonable price also.

We all enjoyed the meals. Rather shocked at the final bill which was excessive. Worse was table service, patronising and standing by listening to our conversations and even commenting. No wonder that the restaurant was almost empty. Not going back.

Overall a disappointing meal. The club is lovely but the restaurant was cold and drafty and lacked atmosphere. I had a mozzarella starter that was chopped tomatoes with a hard cheese cut into large matchsticks. Not sure what sort of cheese it was but certainly... Voir le carte

Went for afternoon tea. Selection of sandwiches -prawn, egg, ham. Cheese straws were great. Scones (two types, plain and something else, both equally tasty) with cream and jam. Selection of mini desserts- macaroon, eclair, frangipani and strawberry shortbread. Good choice of teas- we had decaf...

The food itself was so lovely. There was a baby shower next to us and they were playing games etc. They were a tad loud when trying to have a nice afternoon tea. It may have be better seating then the other side of the restaurant, it would also give them more space for their presents and cake etc.

We stayed in the hotel so had breakfast and dinner included. The food selection was excellent and quality good. The highlight of the weekend was the customer service in the restaurant, particularly by Ryan and Lily. Ryan had such a way with customers. He clearly has an extremely successful future in hospitality ahead of him. Voir le carte
