"Truva, located in Towcester, has only been open for a few weeks and I had high expectations after reading the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, I left feeling a bit let down. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I couldn't fault them. The courtyard location and the ambience and decor inside the restaurant were also great. However, I found the food to be disappointing. My wife and I started with the hot mezze which was uninspiring and a small portion for two people. The kebabs we ordered were very chewy and dry. Many British tourists have experienced authentic Turkish cuisine while on holiday in Turkey, but the food at Truva did not feel very authentic. The Turkish food at the nearby Olive Garden, just 500m away, is generally much better. I was genuinely disappointed as I was hoping for this new restaurant to be good. Hopefully, they can improve the food as everything else about the restaurant was very good."

"Excellent location for a small party to go to. Food was excellent, service was top of the line. The birthday 'boy ' even got a fancy dessert as a present from the staff. Wheelchair accessibility: There was some difficulty in getting in as a wheelchair user. Luckily I had some fitness freaks as friends, who didn 't mind lifting my chair up the very steep 3 steps at the entrance. Staff had prepared the way to our table so I could pass without disturbing other customers. I didn 't visit the toilet but was informed it was not wheelchair friendly."

"A warm welcome, friendly and attentive staff. Perhaps not the easiest of places to find, even if you do know your way around as it 's hidden away in a quiet back street in an already quiet village location. We were quickly seated on arrival and drinks soon sorted. An adequate choice on the Sunday Lunch menu, including traditional Sunday Roasts and pub classics. Vegan and vegetarian options. A nice touch that although my wife chose a main that was shown as vegan on the menu, they thoughtfully asked if she was indeed vegan (or vegetarian) before the food arrived so as to tailor accompanying veg/roasties/yorkshire pud accordingly. Starters, mains and desserts were all simply presented, without excessively flamboyant garnishes etc but that 's no criticism, just an observation the food itself was very good indeed. Really enjoyed our starter roasted asparagus with garlic mushrooms. Only minor criticism being that one of the sides (cauliflower cheese) was a bit over browned. Swiftly noted by server and a replacement offered (but declined it really was no big deal). I had the classic beer batter fish with chunky chips. Menu said mushy peas but regular petit pois were served. Superb chunky chips and chef really nailed that beer batter (apparently using Hooky ale seems to work well at any rate delightfully light batter with no soggy bits or over hard bits either). Generous portions all round, so both of us elected to leave a little room for our desserts We both enjoyed our meal and will doubtless be back at some point in the near future."

"Lovely food, very welcoming and friendly, efficient service. We have stopped here a couple of times to break up long journeys. The first time we had a superb roast and this time we had their set menu which was excellent value. The food was delicious especially the risotto and top quality fish and chips. Will try the full menu next time. They even welcomed our dog. If we lived nearby we’d be in there all the time! "ABSOLUTELY beautiful, GORGEOUS food (I'm NOT a vegetarian)!!!! But I opted for the broccoli n stilton pie as it just sounded yummmmmmy...I and My Family were not dissapointed...Food was out of this world,Quaint little pub on the outside, but inside it was packed, byt everyone was seen to and served very quickly..excellent service, The staff were very friendly, I tripped and cut my head as I was going to the toilet(NO NOT DRUNK), The Bar Lady,came over quickly,gave me some ice in a towel,which helped stop the swelling..she could not of done anything more to help,she aaid she had to put it in the accident book,I said I was only visiting and didn't live around here ,she said NO its got to be written in the accident book. I cannot Thank the staff enough for a really beautiful evening..
