la chiave per il paradiso è un trattore di picco a Pitigliano, contorto a pochi metri dalla cattedrale. la cucina è casa e offre piatti tipici toscani, come le fantastiche pappardelle con cinghiale ragù e la Maremma tradione come le pere curate. ottima scelta anche per vini e dolci.

My wife and I had an excellent lunch: delicious tortelli (big ravioli) and potato gnocchi ai funghi porcini followed by a flavorful tagliata di cinta sienese (special tuscan pork steak), trippa, side dish of spinach and, for dessert, a very, very tasty slice of ricotta-frutta di bosco cake, and the usual bottle of bubbly water and espresso at the end of the meal. 50 euros total, reasonable.

We arrived at this restaurant about 7 pm asked about a table and told we would have to wait about 15 mins. We said ok and asked if we could order a drink sit outside they were not serving food out here but they were very reluctant. There seemed to be a bit of a disagreement about it anyway eventually they did and then another couple sat there too. The food itself was delicious. I ordered pici aglione I am vegetarian which the waitress warned was very hot. I decided to risk it and glad I did. It was hot but very tasty . We visit the restaurant basically every night as our place was just opposite. Idio, the owner as always been very kind and all the staff is very friendly. The food is delicious and all prepared at the moment so it may take a bit of time but the taste is worth the waiting. We recommend the veal scaloppine al limone, the tagliatelle funghi porcini, tagliata steak. the desserts are so tasty and all home made. Don't forget to try the spumino with mix berries, the ricotta cake and the pannacotta, all accompanied with a nice espresso with a Barricata grappa. As we turned the corner of the building we stepped right into the outdoor seating area. The menu looked good to us, they weren’t open yet. We continued our walk, came back and they were happy to see us as the first customers of the day. We enjoyed each dish. Started and shared the Pear, pecorino, walnuts and honey that was served warmed so the cheese was melted and the dish stayed warm until we finished. It was so simple yet bursting w/ flavor. We had lunch here on a Wednesday. It’s a cute, quiet, and friendly little restaurant away from the main tourist zone. Tourists are still wandering around the lanes here but far fewer than near the main piazza. There’s limited sitting out front with more seating inside where we sat to avoid potential smokers. We were greeted warmly and bread was brought to our table without asking. But we found our own olive oil and dipping plate as the restaurant got more busy and our server more occupied.
