Great value lovely food and great entertainment! We definitely will be going again. I hope they make a success of it

We went to a Steampunk Halloween Ball and this venue was perfect for the event! The ticket price included a pie and pea supper, and we were pleasantly surprised to also receive cake. The prices at the bar were reasonable, the food was delicious, and the facilities were clean.

I recently visited the town hall with my family on a Friday for their fish special. It was absolutely fantastic and great value for money! The fish was incredibly fresh and the batter was delicious. The restaurant was very clean, with friendly staff. I would definitely recommend it. We also occasionally go for Sunday lunch and the food is always delicious at a great price. The staff are so welcoming and my children feel right at home. I will definitely be visiting more often as they have amazing offers and a variety of dishes. We visited as a family after a visit to santa and the market. When we arrived they didn’t have our booking which I made over the phone, no problem we were still seated, they sat us in a window so it was light but we were as far from the buffet as possible! The room is huge and I can imagine that it’s great for a gig! However it was freezing, it was cold outside but it wasn’t much warmer in the main restaurant, the toilets were freezing and there was no hot water. The tables were clean and the food was hot and tasted ok. I read last year that they were going to reopen this venue. I only just found out that they did in November 2016 (they haven't done much advertising)! We decided to go see a meatloaf tribute priced at £17.50 each which included a 2 course meal. The venue is clean and tidy, my only issue is how close together the tables are the person behind me kept banging my chair all night. The food was brilliant. Served in kind of a carvery style they sent up tables in turn. There was a huge salad choice including Italian meats which could easily warrant a starter. The choice of mains was reasonable and very tasty. Finally a good selection of desserts left us very full! Considering the lack of advertising...

We went for Sunday dinner at this restaurant, where you can get a 3-course meal for £10 and kids eat for £4.95. We booked for 1pm and the starters were okay for the kids, but my husband and I didn't have anything. The kids had garlic bread and a chicken wing, while there was vegetable soup, onion rings, salad, pasta, and corn on the cob. The carvery meats were great with beef, pork, turkey, lamb, ham, and meat pie. However, the variety of vegetables was a letdown as they should stick to the basics and keep them well stocked. We booked a table for 1 o'clock. On arrival we were shown to our table which wasn't on the main floor. It was dark for some reason there were no lights on in this area. A young lady came and said someone would be coming to take our drinks order. After 10 minutes another lady came and took our order. Another 10 minutes another lady came. Another 10 minutes a third lady came. At 1.30 our drinks arrived. We went to get our food. Not much meat left. There was a very small piece of beef (enough for one person), pork and turkey. I asked if there was any more beef and the lady said no as they were closing at 2pm. The advert did say they were open from 12 noon to 3pm.The veg left wasn't very hot and...

We came here for Sunday lunch after having seen a special offer- 3 courses for £10. We went about 1230 and there were a few people already seated. Sunday lunch is served from 12 until 3. The set up is that you are taken to a table, your drinks order taken and then it is help yourself buffet style for starter, main and dessert. There is lots of choice for all courses. For starter there was soup, garlic bread, salad, pate, samosas and onion rings. For main there was a choice of 4 meats as well as pie and mushroom stroganoff and then a wide selection of vegetables and Yorkshire puddings and stuffing. We won free tickets to a comedy night it. When we got there and spoke to people it seems everyone had WON free tickets to fill the venue. That's fine but if you are struggling to get people into your venue advertising other than fb might be a good idea and details of what food you do a menu price list etc. That a side we were greeted by a very pleasant young man and seated we then queued 30 mins for our first drink by which time we were told the food was no longer been served we and others were in a queue for food eventually they decided to serve the food it was only pie and peas but to their credit the pie was wonderful and the gentleman who served it very polite.
