The White Horse - Carte

Both Ashleigh and Audrey gave us a warm welcome at the restaurant. The meal was tasty and the prices were reasonable. It brightened up a dreary, rainy day in September. Thank you!

Pleasant set of outside drinks, in the rear beer garden, late afternoon. Friendly welcome from the female staff member. Pleasant, early evening atmosphere, inside, whilst peaceful outside.

Not only was the food delicious, the portions were very generous and the value for money superb. Added to that was the brilliant service by Lou thanks to her and everyone at the White Horse Voir le carte

We had Sunday lunch here this weekend and cannot recommend this pub enough! Food was amazing, and out promptly and was served with a smile. The manager Ashley and her deputy Josh were simply so welcoming, professional and couldn’t do enough for us! Will be back again asap! Would highly recommend to family’s, couples, and people looking for a great afternoon out. Five stars!!

We had a great time during our lunch at The White Horse. Despite the busy restaurant, likely due to it being half term, the service was quick. Our waitress was attentive and cheerful, always smiling. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We would love to visit The White Horse more often, but parking in the charming village of Shere can be a challenge as spaces fill up quickly. However, if you make a reservation, it is definitely worth risking the parking situation.

It was a spontaneous decision to eat out. We were hungry and tired. We were greeted by Lou, who looked after us for the rest of the evening. Lou was professional, articulate, amusing and very informative. I chose the mixed grill which was delicious and priced at £19.50 and the steak was cooked to my medium rare request. We visited this fantastic restaurant three times. On our first visit, we were greeted by Ashlee Tracey who was very welcoming. The meal was delicious, so we decided to return a few days later. The service and food were excellent. On our second visit, we were served by Lou and the two lads Josh and Josh. Once again, the food and service were top-notch. Ashlee also came over to chat with us before we left. We will definitely be returning to The White Horse in the village of Shere. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience.

The pro’s …. Lovely looking pub, nice interior, brought back happy memories as a kid of dinner there with my family BUT … sadly the food let it down massively. Sunday roast meal: meat was over cooked and fatty, tasted like a cheap meat. The veg potentially previously cooked? Didn’t taste of much. Gravy lacked red wine or meat juices. Good size helping, pretty plates, but tasted a bit school dinners. Def not cooked to order or recently. Potentially all of it reheated. The yorkshires a bit wet. The tables weren’t cleaned when we arrived we cleared it ourself. Could have done with a good anti bac and perhaps table decoration. All in all disappointed and sadly won’t be returning for a meal, perh...

This is not our first visit to the White Horse but it will be our last as service is just getting worse and it is dirty. We were a group of 6 adults coming for drinks at around 11 30 on 13/8 just before the lunch rush so you would expect sufficient staff to attend the bar. Bar was not busy and there were plenty of tables available but only one member of staff visible and she served people very slowly and in an unbothered style . We ordered 5 drinks and 1 coffee and 1 tea. We had to wait 40 minutes for the tea and coffee as cups were not available.
