"Very pleased with Sunday lunch as a carvery and the usual menu was offered and we like varied dishes. First class service, easy free parking around the back and a nice walk along the adjacent lane made it a lovely experience. We will be back. We did come back and had the fajitas. They were too hot taste wise which spoilt the flavours. Please ask if cool, medium or very hot needed thanks. WARNING I guess we did not notice on our first visit but the menu prices did NOT include VAT. This was added at the end of the whole bill including drinks etc and bumped up the bill by 20%. In view of this I was unable to afford a decent tip. This is the first time I have had a menu not including VAT. I cannot recommend this pub on that basis as it is totally underhand to to charge that way and gives a feeling of being ripped off to your customers. It may affect repeat business. Please include VAT in the menu prices and we might comeback."

Lovely lovely location, staff left you wanting more ie a smile, bit of courtesy, offer of a glass with a bottle of cider. Never eaten here, so can't comment on the food.

I was warmly welcomed even though the restaurant was fully booked and was given a table in the emergency section! The food and service were excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend the soft-boiled Scotch egg!

Very friendly staff. Good selection of items on menu. Our group had the ribs, bangers and mash, lamb shank and chicken rivatoli(? The ribs and bangers were very good. Ribs fell off the bone. The chicken and lamb were good, not great. Caramel apple pie was also good. Voir le carte

I discovered this place during a local bike ride. It's a charming pub with a fantastic outdoor area, ideal for the summer. They have a great selection of beers on tap, and the food is excellent. My wife ordered the Katsu burger, which was incredibly delicious, while I opted for the classic fish and chips, and it did not disappoint. I was very impressed and will definitely be coming back.

Staff atmosphere are great and cannot be faulted. Unfortunately, the food let this pub down. With having elderly family with we had to leave pretty quickly due to health reasons and upon reaching out via the feedback request form about the disappointing meal I have received no response. I tried getting in contact twice and have left it until now to leave a review in the hope I would have been contacted. Really disappointing as this would have been my new local.

This was my first visit and the experience was a mixed bag. First the positives lovely location, plenty of parking and the fact that it was a local was evident the moment I stepped in. The staff was absolutely friendly. And for most part the food and drink was great. The only negative was I ordered lamb shank. It was served rare without my asking for. They brought it back cooked again, but this time it was medium cooked though I explicitly asked for well done. I would certainly visit again, but abstain from ordering the lamb Voir le carte

The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was quite good. However, the coronation slaw was absent from the katsu burger, and the mixed berry compote was missing from the cheesecake. Additionally, the prices were a bit higher than you might expect for pub food—£15 for a burger felt steep. The service was acceptable, but it seemed a bit rushed due to a private event happening at the time, resulting in some orders going to the wrong tables. We were attended to by a few staff members, but Matthew (as noted on the bill) was particularly attentive and helpful.

Nicely decorated in traditional pub style. Friendly staff. However the menu is very predictable and little inspiring. Unless you are very local it's hardly worth traveling for. It's was fit for purpose for the quick dinner we wanted just before moving on to the cinema. Food itself was neither great or awful, just about average. Shame as the look and feel of the place is really nice. I never understand why these sort of pubs don't invest in a decent menu/food development chef or consultant to put together a more exciting menu, train the kitchen staff and work with a few local suppliers, producers and ingredients.
