The Tennant Arms - Carte

This charming, traditional pub boasts a lovely setting. It may not be luxurious, but it offers a pet-friendly atmosphere, rustic charm, delicious food, and great beer. We will definitely be coming back.

Food was quite poor. Gammon was a bacon chop, Lamb Henry was like a piece of old shoe leather and the gravy glupey. The lamb looked like it had been warmed up from the previous day. Such a shame as this used to be a nice pub

Stayed here for a business trip as I was working just down the road. The location is superb if you are on holiday and want to experience Yorkshire. My room was very clean and comfortable and the internet was strong but I missed not having...

So, I booked a night at the Tennants Arms en route to Heysham to catch the ferry to the Isle of Man. Booking.com made the reservation 25th September '21 and the day before arrival I received a welcoming email purportedly from the Tennants....

Excellent place to eat and drink! Has very recently been taken over by a new landlord, really welcoming, good range of local beers and more importantly impressive hearty portions of tasty, well prepared dishes. We opted for starters and mains, being black pudding “Bon bons”...

One member of staff checked us in was running the bar taking food orders and basically doing everything. Room poor cracked tiles mould and damp on roof tv trunking a disgrace and no tv signal Shower constantly running and when told staff they admitted they new it was broke . Food expensive but really tasty but apart from that and the 1 member of staff lovely Don’t touch it with a barge pile garbage.

Called in on our way home after trying to get a meal at several other pub style venues, some of which didn't appear over busy. So the Tennent-s Arms was the last attempt (there are only so many pubs you can walk into and get turned away) Anyway we were welcomed here and had great friendly service, great food. We had Ribeye steak which was not served in the usual pub style steak and chips, it was really good., loved it.. Yes, perhaps the decor is in need of some tlc and it is quite dark inside,due to it being an old building, but we enjoyed our meal and would call again. Voir le carte
