The Swan - Carte

What a gorgeous friendly pub that serves the best pint of Guinness in the UK, George and his staff Alison and Maddie were outstanding caring,polite and extremely professional, I didn't eat there but what I got to see whizzing past me looked amazing, I will be back as soon as I can, thanks George.

Previously been for a drink at this immaculate, warm (fire on! , welcoming pub. Great selection of gins and made to feel so welcome! Went for Sunday lunch with our children, absolutely delicious, prompt service food tasty, cooked perfectly, lots of options. Lovely wine, waitress great with the kids! Thank you we will be back xx

We visited here for a meal as we had travelled nearby to attend a wedding the next day. Due to traffic we were hour late for our original booking but still pleased and helpful to accommodate us. What a find. Amazing food and service. We will definitely return for future meals and can't wait to try Sunday lunch too. Would definitely recommend! Voir le carte

We recently visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch for the second time. The service from the female staff was outstanding, and the food was delicious. The only downside was the parking situation, as I have been a regular customer for over 20 years and was disappointed with the lack of available parking. It would greatly improve the experience if there were a sign indicating customer parking only.

I stayed at this restaurant for two nights while attending a wedding in Thirsk. Our room was small as it was in a loft conversion with two single beds and two Velux roof windows that we opened at night because of the heat. There was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, and sugar provided. The en-suite was small but served its purpose. It may be worth choosing a larger room if possible. The management was friendly and the food was plentiful and faultless. The breakfast included in the room rate was fantastic.

we went to this little gem in the village as locals. The angel, our usual establishment is now closed so we have not a lot of choice of public houses to visit in the area. To our horror we came across a bloke which resembled Peter stringfollow. He appears to be the landlord at the swan. He was extremely rude and obnoxious to my fellow colleague as we were enduring a quiet drink after a hard day at work. we won’t unfortunately be returning to the swan for this reason and looking forward to the angel re opening where we will fell more welcome. Visited on a Friday evening. Rang at 7pm to reserve a table after just arriving at a local premier inn and seeing the great reviews for the swan. We were accommodated and met with a lovely, friendly greeting. The food was just brilliant, huge portions which were just so tasty. The lamb and mint pie was just amazing, the chips also so good. My daughter (11) got the curry with 1/2 chips and rice, the portion was huuuuge! She rated the curry as excellent. We will definitely return when in the area again. Unfortunately, we did not feel very welcome at this restaurant. We had called ahead to inquire about the possibility of checking in early or leaving our bags as we were attending a nearby wedding, but were told that check-in was only between 4-8pm. Additionally, we were informed that breakfast was strictly from 8-9am, which was quite early for guests who had been at a wedding the night before. The food was mediocre. After finishing breakfast, we were hurried to settle our bill and retrieve our bags, even though it was only 9:20am. It felt as though we were being rushed out, despite paying £95 for our stay. To top it off, there was no shower gel provided in the bathroom.

Just what we needed on a cold damp night. A warm, cosy, friendly pub still serving food. After a long journey from Southport we,re starving. The braised beef and sirloin all sold out so it looks like rump steak for two. I'm always dubious of rump so went for med/rare. My wife chose rare. Came plated up with fantastic chips salad and peppercorn sauce. We were knocked out by the size and flavour of the steak. Everything was dare I say it PERFECT. IT'S been a long time since our dining out experience has been so enjoyable made all the more special by the welcome from lanndlord/lady George and Jane, Maddy bar table service and definitely not least chef .Andy.
