Always really nice to go to the star and take friends that haven’t been before. Food is always great and the service is brilliant. Best Indian in sawbo.

Visited in December with a large group of mates on a night out. All food was oerdered and delivered without fuss and with great efficiency. Food tasted great and we all enjoyed it very much.

Exactly what it says on the tin. The food isn't Haute Cuisine, but it doesn't pretend to be, nor does it need to be. There are no fusion experiments just the dishes you expect. The staff are friendly and very accommodating.

We have been going to the star of India for over 20 years and the service, food and atmosphere has always been outstanding. We have always eaten in the restaurant but since lockdown have had 2 takeouts, the same quality and excellence of service abide.

the first time here. seating top 6 people beautiful large table. armed early so not too busy the latter restaurant full. drinks order quickly followed by food order. popadoms with dips for beginners were beautiful and light and crispy with delicious dips. all six different...more this powered plentiful very tasty with a vegetarian option could not really fail any of them. service very well very attentive. worth a visit.

we visited to eat in the restaurant. smiling and welcoming staff. the man at the reception in the ground was full of smiles and was pleased to see us. the man who took our order was beautiful and showed a passion for eating help...we choose. the personal was very attentive. very clean and proud of what they did. the food was excellent and as a couple who have eaten in many restaurants, I would do this at the top for choice, quality and value ratio.

I have placed my order at 6.45 and received a delivery time of 8pm. we were very satisfied with how we knew it was new years eve and so incredibly busy. around 8.10 we called to find out what happened to say it was on the way and 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, we called again. they told us they had problems in the kitchen, but there would be another 15 minutes. roll them to 9.10 clock when we call back again only to him said that it has not even left the kitchen yet. I totally understand that new years are an incredibly busy time of the year, but I can't stick to what they're not even, not twice, but three times lying. they were rude on the phone and we would never go there again.

I went to the star with a couple of mates with quite low expectations, although locally the Star was highly rated, the one and only time I previously had takeaway I was underwhelmed.... Well my last visit has changed my opinion so much so that...I’m looking forward to see if the experience is maintained to takeaway (during lockdown 2.0) Yes, the restaurant decor is a little tired and it’s far too bright...But it has a retro feel/charm. The service was attentive staff welcoming. The main attraction for me was the food...good quality, fresh and varied (e.g NOT just chicken tikka in a different sauce).. Tender lamb and chicken, flavourful sauces and Tandoor cooked Chilli Naan... Keep it up..you...
