The Southbrook Inn - Carte

We had an excellent Christmas Meal at the Southbrook. The service and meal were exceptional. Real tasty home cooking. Thanks Alun and Julie we had a fabulous evening.

Drinks after work. Friendly and patient staff. Alun had lots of us turn up unexpectedly but dealt brilliantly. Great prices and his Guinness is very good too. Thanks for a fab night.

I have not been to this pub for many years. A friend said how good the food was, so we tried it for lunch. The choice was very good and the food had a homemade feel. A place to revisit maybe for Sunday lunch as that menu looked good as well. Voir le carte

Called the pub on 22nd May to book a table for 25 on 26th May. Absolutely, they said. Just let us know what you would like to eat, they said. Called back two days later with the food order only to be told that they do not have enough meat to feed us all as they are only a small pub . Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

What a lovely family run pub, hidden away along a side street, it's surprising to find such a large pub at the end of the road. Excellent pub grub with local meat, all dietary requirements were catered for, particularly when we called ahead. Highly recommend! A special mention to June too, she really went above and beyond to offer vegan friendly options

The weather was lovely and everything went downhill from there. Maybe ok for locals and you want to talk speedway. We didn't and always seemed to be last to be served. Place reminded us of the 1980's and that included the poor menu. In my opinion Arkells normally produce a decent pint, unfortunately this was not the case on our visit. Maybe the warm weather tainted it? I wouldn't recommend it to friends or anyone visiting Swindon. On a plus the toilets were ok. Voir le carte

Ignored by the staff. We called in for a drink, waited at the bar whilst the lady behind the bar was taking a food order, after a few minutes a man spoke over my shoulder and ask her for drinks he wanted. The regular customer (she knew his name so it's fair to assume he's a regular) was then served despite the staff member knowing we were still waiting. Clearly customers that are not regular are not welcome or certainly take their place low down the order, so we walked out and will not bother going back. We went elsewhere for food and drinks.

It only made 3 stars due to the efforts of the frount of house lady to try and sort things out. Otherwise it would be down to 1 A large group had pre ordered from the standard menu for lunch before leaving. on arrival the right hand bar had been reserved for us. Unfortunately the food when it arrived went seriously wrong. Several of the fish meals were burnt black on the chips were cold. Lasagnua was served in dishes of several sizes. The small ones were less than half the big one. At least one Chicken was so cold it was pink when cut. 1 Meal arrived over hour late. The only savour was the genuine aplogy from the lady seving and refunds or repacments offered. Beer only Arkels 3 real ales on...

My wife and I were married Sat and had our reception here. It was an amazing night Firstly Alun and Julie, the Landlord/Lady are organised and dealt with all the details for the night, They recommended New Dimensions for the Disco and they were on time, really helpful and put on a great show at a reasonable price. Nothing was too much trouble. We decorated the room but they cleared everything up to save us the trouble. The venue is great. It has a decent size room (we were numbered about 75) and that would have been fine. But it was a lovely day and they have a great outdoor area lined with roses that was brilliant for guest who don't like music and wanted to chat. Lots of chairs and table a... Voir le carte
