The Royal Forester - Carte

The fish was almost all batter with a trace of fish inside and our friends food was nothing special and we all commented that it used to be so much better here. Service was slow and there were not many customers and plenty of staff....To their credit the beer was well kept but we will not be returning for food.

I stayed at this pub with a friend for two days while hiking. The staff was great and the atmosphere was nice, but the food was mediocre. The curry was dry and lacked flavor. The menu indicated that the food options were more typical pub fare, which suited our needs. They did have a good variety of draft beers available.

Stopped in for lunch after doing Go Ape just up the road in a wet summer’s afternoon on a Thursday. The family had burgers, cod, salads and rotisserie chicken. The sides of chilli broccoli stalks that were in a buffalo sauce. Desserts were had as...the mains were so good. Service was great. I’d recommend this place. Our experience was really good. We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday party at the Royal Forester with over 30 guests. The facilities were fantastic and family-friendly, and the buffet provided excellent value. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making for a successful afternoon. The venue made organizing the gathering stress-free and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it.

well what a great place, been here years ago and it was just awful. The building along with the staff was warm and welcoming. Theye have a great sytem where if you need a member of staff you press a buzzer and they are they...in seconds. Food was great, we had the carving beef to share, meat was amazing along the with freshly cooked vegetables. What a great experience, we will be returning and with friends.

Shockingly not good this time Went here the last night before lockdown... have been before and could only say good things.. sadly not on this occasion... we ordered x ribeye steaks, they were not cooked as ordered, served cold and sadly we couldn’t warm...food with the sauce we had ordered as that was cold too.. Called for service but none came... so left our meals and when asked was everything ok.. we explained, the reply was... oh sorry about that..!!! Not really what we expected.... Not sure we will be going back if this is the level of service offered... Voir le carte

sat with a red letter day voucher with my wife and my young daughter for a afternoon tea. at the arrival we were shown on our table and asked if our daughters had a own sandwich as part of the tees for (This...was a really nice note and our daughters really enjoyed their sandwich and share the cake). the afternoon was by far the best we had. quality ingredients and all really fresh. would highly recommend the afternoon. we had in past a meal in this restaurant and again it was clear to see and taste that quality ingredients were used. we will visit again! please support a local company that offers quality.

Had a lovely afternoon with my husband enjoying an afternoon tea with prosecco. I was brought it as a gift so I was hoping it would be nice. I can't recommend this pub highly enough. On arrival we were minutes late. The young man...that served us was so polite and welcoming when he greeted us. We sat outside under a beautiful safari/ bell tent cover with beautiful lights! We were given a glass of prosecco with a raspberry and the food arrived shortly after. It was beautifully presented. Bread was fresh fluffy. The scones were home baked. The tea cups were even warm. It was absolutely perfect. The young man came several times asking if there was anything and left overs can be wrapped to take... Voir le carte
