"I have been working at the red rose for over 2 years, both as a driver and as a waiter. I know the restaurant and the food to be clean and look. after 25 years there is the same boss. he flaps over and panic when it starts to be too busy, but this is because he cares about 110% to get the food to the customers, and he knows what he does! the same as for the rest of the staff. they are regular long-term employees who are well-trained and qualified, and always go from there to make their visit as beautiful as possible. the personal is always for a laugh and sweat. they are very professional, but from them they crack a sweat with them, they will join and will not ignore it they are good fun and fun to work. Currently there are only alcohol-free drinks on the menu starting in October 2021."

Very busy with a wonderful ambience, staff couldn't do enough to help and the food is pretty much the best of any Indian restaurant we've been to in this country. 5 star!!

the food was delicious and was nice and hot at delivery, so full of taste, and at a really cheap price, will definitely recommend and will soon order again. deliver kerl was also really nice, very friendly, also excused for waiting, but we didn't wait too long. we really enjoyed it.

I was a frequent visitor to this restaurant, but I moved away from the area a few years ago. On a recent visit to Basingstoke to see family, I decided to get a takeout and went back to the Red Rose. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and was greeted by name. The service and food were just as good as I remembered. Fantastic! Voir le carte

I reserved a table at this restaurant after my parents, who had been here a few years ago, had praised it. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The service was the worst I have ever experienced at an Indian restaurant, and the curry was incredibly bland. They seemed to prioritize delivery drivers and walk-ins over actual diners, as we watched many people being served before us. Our food took over an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive, and by then, we were already fed up. This was by far the most flavorless and watery curry I have ever tasted. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

What used to be a great place to eat .Is now to be avoided al all costs whist the food is of a good standard .Cant say the same of the service we received, we had a table booked for 7.15 our drinks starter were served promptly .Then it all started to go downhill ,there was a steady flow of just eat delivery drivers in out after waiting for an hour we asked where are main meal .The waiter responded, with the following comment just eat comes first we will bring you your meal in a while .at which point we requested the bill for what we had been served A manager then came to our table to apologise ten minutes later are main course arrived .We wont be going back

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
