"I ordered the lamb shank with Sunday roast, and unfortunately, it wasn't impressive—it tasted like something you'd get from a supermarket's frozen section. There wasn't enough gravy, and the plates were cold. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly. However, both of the desserts I tried came out unheated, which made it clear that they weren't made in-house. As for the cost, it was around £20–30 per person. I would rate the food a 4, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4."

"What a lovely place this is.Situated in a wonderful location in the Forest of Dean. Very homely welcome and atmosphere, great staff and the food is amazing and at a reasonable price. We called in for lunch having visited the evening before and were not disappointed. Taste, quality and service all first class! "This restaurant is a lovely venue for lunch, dinner, weddings, and birthday celebrations. They offer an excellent buffet, making it a great choice for hosting parties or special events. The food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. There are plenty of parking spaces available, and the surrounding area has open spaces that are perfect for young people in the city."

"Walked in, asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside we chose outside, ordered our food at the bar, waited 45 minutes for it to arrive, people that arrived after us were served before us which we found odd. Food arrived, my mum had beef lasagne i had bangers and mash, my mums lasagne contained no beef, one slice of pasta, all the rest was cheese sauce, took the lasagne back to the bar and complained, so the bar staff took it back to the kitchen, the kitchen staff insisted it was beef, we even asked the waitress where was the beef, she even said she couldn't see it, the table opposite us, had the beef lasagne as well and said it was all cheese sauce, no meat, my mum was offered another dish but she didn't fancy waiting another 45 minutes for something else, the so called beef lasagne she had tasted good but wasn't what she had ordered I had the bangers and mash, the sausages didnt taste like pork and the mash was lumpy and the gravy was like water. Previously we come here in the evening and have ordered the same dishes and they've been delicious so we are disappointed with the standard and service we received on this day We will be giving this place a wide birth for a while"

"The only reason this place gets any stars at all is the wait staff who despite being run off their feet and being forced to constantly apologise on behalf of the 'chefs ' were always very polite and smiley. After waiting for over an hour we asked how long it would be, we were not given an answer but rather a plate of dips. Nothing to dip into the dips though!! Eventually almost 90 minutes after ordering our food came. They 'd ran out of chicken so substituted it for lamb which ordinarily would be a great deal but the other element of the meal was lamb. So lamb, lamb and rice. We ate a nominal amount of lamb before paying the bill."
