"After enjoying a drink at this pub earlier in the week, we decided to give their dinner menu a try. We called ahead to reserve a table, and although they had a large group booked, they were still able to accommodate us. The pub and its garden are dog-friendly, and we opted to dine in the charming beer garden. The food was delicious, with generous portions of high-quality pub fare. The prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes. The service was prompt, and all of the staff members were exceptionally friendly. We highly recommend stopping by for a visit."

"Don't know whether this experience was because we went on a Sunday night when the usual/trained chef wasn't there and less experienced staff were left to do the cooking but the food terrible. My wife had the calamari starter and we wondered on first taste whether it was onion rings. Our conclusion was that it was (supposed to be) calamari but somehow it was reformed meat and completely overpowered with garlic. My scallop starter was undercooked (yes I know it should be seared and not over cooked but it was just like jelly. And there is only so much you can hide with a liberal sprinkling of rocket salad. My wife's main course of risotto was apparently ok but nothing to write home about and my chicken in cream and stilton sauce was a mess. I was expecting a chicken breast nicely cooked and then sliced with a sauce poured over but it was more like a random pile of chicken pieces, some of which were very chewy (I guess from inconsistent cooking/microwaving) in a sea of sauce. The best thing on the plate was the chips. Surroundings aren't brilliant but the food was definitely the low point."

"The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was delightful. I ordered takeout and found the prices to be reasonable, ranging from £10 to £20 per person. I would rate the food a solid 5 out of 5, as well as the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the garlic bread and cheeseburger!"

"We stopped here for a well deserved lunch after walking in the footsteps of Tennyson in the Lincolnshire Wolds. There’s a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating and it was cooler outside than it was inside, so we chose outdoors. Despite being in a major tourist area, Rachel Cafe is by far one of the most affordable and reasonably priced cafes I’ve been to. The menu is mainly traditional British fare, including desserts. There were vegetarian options andI just went for the vegetarian breakfast. The portion wasn’t huge, which was fine because the price was reasonable and I already had a big breakfast. This variation on the standard full English Breakfast included an option of either chopped tomatoes or beans and I went with the former just because I’d never tried that before. The dish also came with two slices of toast. The vegetarian sausage was a little dry, but dipping in the chopped tomato solved that. Everything else on the plate was delicious. The cappuccinos we ordered were excellent too. Would definitely come back. The only downside is that the cafe only accepted cash, so it was lucky I carried some for emergencies like this."
