"Before the lockdown, this pub was a favorite spot for dinner, offering great food and ambiance. However, upon our return, we were surprised to see how much the place had changed. The food was still good, but it was more of a typical pub menu with a few specials, a departure from the past. The real disappointment was the state of the pub itself – it seemed run-down and cold. The walls and fairy light cables were covered in cobwebs, the fire was not lit, and the only source of heat appeared to be a plug-in oil-filled radiator. The staff were friendly and the food was enjoyable, but the pub could greatly benefit from a thorough cleaning and better heating, especially during this time of year."

A nice pub with a good atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff. The food is typical pub grub and is very tasty. Well worth a visit but would advise you to book in advance.

We went today hoping for a traditional Sunday lunch and that's what we got. The service was great, the food was delicious, with generous portions served hot. We will definitely go back.

We had such a lovely, Sunday lunch at The Queen Inn. It was a really cosy and traditional pub. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Sunday roasts were huge and delicious so we even took a doggie bag home. I would definitely go back in the future. Voir le carte

My friend and I like to visit this pub every few months because it is conveniently located halfway between where we both live. We always order the same drinks and food, and even though we don't come very often, we are always greeted warmly and recognized. The roast beef sandwiches are truly the best I have ever tasted. This pub is a hidden gem.

Had a really good meal this time last year but this time it was extremely poor. Unfortunately we were told at the time of booking we would have to have the Xmas menu big mistake the turkey was dry, the roast potatoes awful in fact everything came on the plate it was like canteen food and certainly not cheap The starters weren't much better either. Certainly won't be rushing back

My family and I had a wonderful night at this restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious meal, friendly staff, and had a great time participating in the pub quiz. It had been years since our last visit (before covid), and while it may not be a top food destination, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were kind. We give it a well-deserved 4-star review. Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening! Voir le carte

Very good beer. Nice traditional pub. No background music and good parking. Lovely table by an antique fire place burning g lovely wood logs. Not quite 5*. My main of the suet steak pie was a little light on meat and the service was too slow. We arrived soon after 12.00. Coffee did not come until just before the 15.00 final orders bell. But I really liked the decor and feel of analogy traditional pub!

Absolutely outstanding Sunday lunch at this hidden gem of a pub in Dummer, Hampshire. Roast Turkey was perfectly cooked, moist and great flavour with a generous portion size, together with attentive and polite staff, a selection of beers and wine it really was a Sunday lunch to remember. Even the TV personality Phil Tufnell was in honouring a charity commitment that the landlady Liz had kindly donated for Parkinson's, so it must be a great spot !! Would highly recommend it to anyone.

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
