Perfect country pub very close to Winchester in a sweet English village. Wonderful staff who are very attentive, great food and lovely refurbished rooms to stay in with all the amenities needed. Would definitely return to stay over night in one of the rooms. Also a great bonus they are dog friendly! Stopped off on the way to Winchester. We received a warm welcome, from the staff. The food was excellent. We a steak and a good pasta. The creme brulee was one of the best we have ever had and the homemade icecream is a must try. The choice of beer was very good. Dietary restrictions: They delt with them very well. I ordered two sausage and bacon sandwiches to go. I was quoted £9.50 per sandwich over the phone, but was charged £10.50 per sandwich when I arrived to pick them up. I was disappointed to find that the bacon was rubbery and undercooked, the sausages were bland, and the bread was cheap sliced bread. Couple, 56 years, Germany Someone here has thought and implemented the concept very well: from homemade fresh food to the choice of colors and furnishings of the rooms.
