"We went for lunch and there was a long wait for food, despite not being busy. However, it was cooked from scratch to order and tasted amazing. Customer service was a little iffy from a dour older woman behind the bar who didn't want us to take a menu outside to look at but everyone else was really friendly. The table next to us spuriously sent back a meal because it had a bug in it well, we were sitting outside so it was a real possibility it was going to happen and the staff took back the meal without complaining and provided a fresh one. When our meals then came out, we were advised to watch out for bugs landing! The toilets were clean and well stocked with little extras. We would visit again. Food drinks: Food being cooked to order meant it tasted really good. Worth the wait!"

The atmosphere is nice and peaceful. The staff and locals are friendly. Enjoying Thatchers Gold while sitting on the grass was simply perfect.

The food was disappointing, with limited options, especially for vegetarian or vegan diets. They didn't even have any butter available. The service was lacking as well. It's a real disappointment.

Fantastic pub food. Visited 3 times in the space of a week and the food was spot on each time. Highly recommend the chilli or Lasagne. Great cask ales on draught. Very Friendly staff. Definitely coming back. Thank you!

This restaurant offers generous homemade dishes at very affordable prices. It's the ideal spot to stop for lunch on your way to the airport. I enjoyed the ham and chips, which featured delicious ham, perfectly cooked eggs, and the best chips I’ve had in ages. These weren’t your typical frozen fries; they were classic, hand-cut chips that really made the meal stand out. Voir le carte

Let's start off with the bad bit , being on holiday in the area I could only manage one visit as the food was brilliant I choose my food off the board, a Spanish dish and loved it. Midweek and it was busy which says a lot for what they do. Hope to go back to the area and will make sure I visit again. Highly recommended we could see the food they were bringing out and it all looked very nice sadly I did not try the beer as I don't drink and drive at all not even a half pint.

I was hiking the West Mendip Way and stopped here for my first night after covering 12 miles. I was really grateful to find a place where I could rest my tired legs. They serve dinner until 7 PM, and you have the option of breakfast as well. The owners are very welcoming, and I couldn't have asked for more. It's convenient to have breakfast and dinner just downstairs. Overall, it's a perfect spot for anyone walking the West Mendip Way, especially at the end of day one of three (having started at Uphill, Weston Super Mare).

"We live just down the road from Axbridge and popped in for dinner as we had heard good things about this place. The first thing that is difficult is parking! There are restrictions everywhere for 24 hours a day as far as we could tell. Of course, that is not the fault of the restaurant but it does contribute to one 's enjoyment of an evening.Anyway, the restaurant and bar area are very nicely decorated, warm and welcoming. we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady and had a drink at the bar first. very chatty and friendly woman behind the bar too.On being seated at the restaurant, we had a tasty amuse bouche and drinks (decent wine list .The menu is good. There were at least three things on there that I could have ordered on the spot! Traditional British style choices, very nice. However, I could not justify paying £30 for an 8oz fillet of beef with some sauce!!I had the pigeon starter, which was very nicely cooked, pink all the way through and tender as well (water bath, maybe? . However, when it arrived at the table it was all quite cold as if it had been sitting for a while before being brought out. My wife had the soup, which was home made and she said it was good.We both went for the pork belly main course, and both agreed that it was rather dry. There was nice crackling and all the potatoes and veg were nicely cooked, but the actual pork meat was not unctuous with reduced fat. All in all, good service, nice place but the kitchen was not on top form that night. We would give them another chance however, this meal was 'average ', not 'poor '."
