Stumbled across this Beautiful little pub whist working locally great choice of Beer and cracking food... Landlady was smashing and really friendly id definately return if down this way again

The small local pub has recently undergone renovations and now has a pleasant landlady and a cozy beer garden. Its location across from a bit of history adds to its charm and makes it worth a visit. Although I didn't try the food on this visit, I would definitely do so next time. The price per person ranges from £1 to £10 and I would give a rating of 4 for both service and atmosphere.

We stumbled upon the Old Palace by chance and had a fantastic Sunday dinner with great service and atmosphere in a newly decorated pub. We will definitely be returning. A big thank you to Celeste. The price per person was between £10-£20. The food, service, and atmosphere were all rated 5 stars. Recommended dishes include the Casserole of Beef with Roasted Honey Glazed Parsnips and Carrots. There is plenty of parking available.

I have been wanting to try this pub for a long time, as I used to go there many years ago. Today, my sisters, partners, and I agreed to meet there for lunch. Despite the website showing that the pub was open, when we arrived at 1.45pm, it was actually closed. After calling, we were told that they would be open in about half an hour. We decided to go to the Saracens Head for a drink while we waited to return to the Old Palace for our meal. However, when we returned at 2.30pm, the pub was still closed. We were all extremely disappointed and my companions were so discouraged by the experience that they didn't want to try again. I am the only one in my group who still wants to give this pub a ch...
