Went in at 9.45 on a Saturday night only 6 people in the whole pub !

Lovely place , lovely staff and fantastic food at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit

Great staff, very friendly and attentive. The meals were very tasty and well presented. The specials were very generously portioned and reasonably priced at £10-£11. Good location and plenty available parking. Some of the regulars were a bit boisterous but seemed friendly enough.

Not too busy, so table service with an amazing variety of bespoke meals. Certainly not a pub-chain. Reasonable prices and a rare real ale in Golden Pippen. Not what you would expect from a village pub, with a lot of competition in the area. Superb place . Order "proper chips! ' Lol

In the trade myself I recognise good service and the rest . Two ladies behind the bar Busy , attentive and great personalities. Clearly enjoying their craft and interacting with all customers.. Prices and quality of beer excellent . If all pubs were like this you wouldn’t drink at home . Was Airbnbin in Clayton and needed a lunch option. Recommend the tapas menu if there are a few of you as it's good value. Mains wise, the halloumi burger with hand cut chips is a good choice and I'd recommend the cheesy garlic bread as a side! (See photos) Friendly staff and well sign posted along the main road. If I'm ever in the area again it's somewhere I'd visit again and good WiFi provisions.

A friendly local that produces home cooked food of a good quality. We had a vegetarian lasagne made with butternut squash which came with a balsamic dressed side salad and garlic bread. It arrived piping hot and an ample portion which together with a large glass of wine for 2 people was £21.00 Great value for money and in a quiet dining room with the odd shout for the World Cup football goals being shown in the bar area. This was an old coaching inn and does not look much from the outside, but the food provided an excellent meal in the evening

Got there after a recommendation from a friend. As soon as we got to the bar the local ‘knobs’ started singing Lola by the kinks. Surprised they had the intelligence to remember the song we had a drink then went to the bar to order another round and the same guys showed their true intelligence by singing the same song really get a life I would say boys but that is too complimentary so again knob heads come to mind. We are the better ones as we didn’t say anything or retaliate to your low intelligence and have come away feeling good about our 30 36 year relationships and you 3 are still stood at the end of the bar with no partner between you.
