"This community-owned pub is a pleasant spot to stop during a walk from Helford to St Anthony. The food is good and the welcome can vary depending on who is serving that day. It's worth noting that the atmosphere may be more appealing to Daily Mail readers than Daily Mirror readers. Overall, I gave the food a rating of 4 out of 5."

Pub came recommended to us in a guide book, and it didn’t disappoint. Food was fresh and tasty local fish was excellent and service was brilliant despite the fact we were a group of 10. Well worth the short drive Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5

Honestly, the most delicious food with ever had for the best price, especially compared to some local rip-offs. I would choose this place every time. Next time I’m back this is where I’ll go. Real pain run by real people who love the place. How it should be x Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

"Where do I start? Have been coming to this pub regularly for 12 years. I'm not sure what has changed, but the service and the food are unrecognisable. Yesterday was an absolute shambles. They are charging well over the odds for things that are just simply not worth the money. Some of the things on the bill aren't even priced as they are on the menu. For example, the kids meals are 10% more than advertised. Soft drinks are extortionate, and £2 a scoop for children's ice cream is laughable. The food itself was dire, the burger I had was tasteless, others tasted it and agreed. We actually refused to pay for the fish, the chap sat next to us was a chef (he sent his chowder back as it was bland and like dishwater) and he said the oil wasn't hot enough, allowing the fish to soak it up. It was greasy and again very bland. The chowder was unimpressive, the prawns were good although the salad was wilted and of poor quality, both children enjoyed their meals. Also some very, very strange comments were made to us by a member of the serving staff about the cleanliness of the pub, very worrying. This place was excellent and it really genuinely upsets me to post this, but something has to be done because it is no way near what it was. What is the reason for this, I have heard maybe Punch Taverns have taken over? Is that correct? A real shame and a massive dissapointment, was not worth anywhere near the 120 pounds we paid."
