"Came here twice for dinner. First time was really good, friendly efficient staff, good service, food very good Second visit was terrible, it was very busy but that is no excuse. The staff were still friendly but the food was not good. Our starters took...forever to arrive, when they did we saw what turned out to be our main courses sitting under a heat lamp being kept warm. As a consequence our main courses were dried up, my fried egg could have ben used as an ice hockey puck, it was so solid. All the food was also stone cold, inedible. When the manager was called he did deduct the cost of the mains from the bill but we would much rather have been properly fed. Would not return if it is busy"

Literally eat the worst I've ever eaten! It's like they went out of that to make eating as bad as possible. they only have to do one to invaluable tourist, as I think they would not return customers.

Food was tasteless and to expensive for the quality, don’t think the hygiene is to good there also, because my stomach was not happy at all. All of us were pretty disappointed. Look out for the neck sincerely Robin Scømer Turist trap

We stopped here for a light lunch. The menu was vast withvarious fried fast food options. We opted to have the veg pizza which was covered in jalapenos (more jalapenos than anything else). Unfortunately, the food was just okay and nothing special and it left...us reaching for the gaviscon afterwards.

We ate here during our stay in Fort Augustus. There is a wide menu choice and though it looks a bit like a cafe rather than a restaurant the food was very good. I had a pizza and it was one of the best I...have had. The toppings was plentiful and very tasty. My husband had the gammon which he also said was fine. No issues at all, service was pleasant and efficient.

We received enthusiastic service but the menu is all over the place at this canal side spot clearly geared towards the tourist crowd. Scottish, Turkish and Italian dishes are on offer. Portions are large, nothing was bad but average is a good descriptor. Calamari’s and...salmon was ok but slightly over cooked, doner kebab was similarly ok and plentiful. Price isn’t bad. Atmosphere is beer garden/cafeteria. No harm done but we would probably go to the Bothy across the canal Voir le carte

On a busy evening I would avoid. Took us over minutes to be asked for our drinks order, which we gave along with our food order. Then a further minutes for the drinks to arrive. Then close to an hour after our food...arrived. The food was good but massive portions. The waiter was very apologetic as to the delay but there was nothing really done about it. We watched multiple people walk out due to the service being subpar. I watched different parties orders come out and being served when they had been seated after ourselves. Over an hour to cook a pizza, really?!

we were a few hours in augustus and saw the moorings. it looked clean and we had starving. when it was a nice day, we had a good time. the service was slow and chaotic, but the staff was polite and friendly. I was looking for the Scotch Pie and chips while the boss had fishcake and chips. unfortunately, the chips were made, although hot, underused and anemic look. my scotch pee was hot outside, but only in the inner lukewarm, so could not be eaten as I suspected boiled from frozen. it was an expensive meal, but what we expected from a tourist hotspot. sadly disappointing at our visit, but to improve potential

"My beloved treated me for my birthday (as he knows this is my favourite restaurant locally and I have been bending his ear about how wonderful it is! . He was a little sceptical when he saw the pictures of the tasting menu because he loves his food (in quantity that would sink most . Well, what can I say except...a lovely welcome at reception, quickly seated and drinks ordered, thanks to the wonderfully attentive waiting staff (Josh, is a star and really knowledgeable of the menu . The amuse bouche. trio duck liver twiglet, Arbroath smokie gougeres and the trout/apple tartlet were an absolute explosion of flavour and a taster if things to come. The treacle bannock was served with an onion butter and a plain butter topped with Isle of Skye salt (amazing stuff and very moreish. (at this point hubby 's eye 's lit up and he became enthusiastic! . I had the Highland Beef for my main, he had the Halibut and mussels and both were exceptional and beautifully presented. The Lemon cheesecake (in a chocolate coating with blackcurrant sorbet was just delicious and a perfect, not too sweet or heavy, way to end the meal. I didn 't take pics (unfortunately but they do have some of the dishes on their Facebook and instagram pages. Tasting menus of this quality will never be cheaper but this was absolutely worth every penny. 3 AA rosettes is really an under estimate of Chef Kelly and the teams abilities! Thank you for a memorable evening and we will most definitely be back. P.s I 've made the bannock bread from the recipe given it 's amazing :"
