The Minstrel - Carte

7 of us called in for breakfast and chat, the breakfast stopped all the chat. WOW what a beautiful sight it was, everything you expect and more. Go try the Minstrel for breakfast, lunch or evening drinks and snacks you won't be disappointed.

An amazingly quaint building oozing with charm only matched by the politeness and warm welcoming staff. Food was top notch and definitely the best home cooked food you will find locally. Definitely will be returning to this diamond in the rough

Got together with some friends at the Minstrel this morning and had the best breakfast I have had out in years. Good sausage and black pudding especially, and a lovely ambience. The service was first class and can't reccommend a visit highly enough. Voir le carte

Six cyclists in our group stopped for a lunch break after a decent ride. We were made to feel very welcome, and were served with our variety of choices. Lovely food, had a good, unhurried rest, and it set us up for the ride home. Great place to stop.

It took over an hour for our breakfasts to arrive. To be fair we were told there may be a wait when we arrived however you expect a cafe delay to be 15-30 mins not over an hour. My eggs Benedict was cold, the eggs were completely over cooked. Our other meal was scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms. Again the toast was cold, flavourless and overall not with the wait.

Hush hush... Keep it a secret, but on Friday evenings this charming cafe transforms into a wine bar offering the finest adult cocktails in town and a great selection of wines. We enjoyed a pre-ordered cheese platter that was generously portioned with a delicious variety of cheeses. Just like to praise the staff at the Minstrel this morning for their superb customer service and attentiveness towards our party. We all enjoyed a fantastic breakfast which consisted of, Bacon, Sausages, eggs, beans, black pudding, mushrooms and a choice of brown or white toast. The restaurant was clean, tidy and well presented, the staff were polite and the food was excellent. I’d totally recommend this family ran restaurant.

New update Great place to stop off for a coffee/tea and something to eat with friends. Had breakfast toda with a friend, great breakfast choices including Vegetarian options. When it's sunny you can sit outside in their seating area, as it was raining we ended up in their upstairs area. Definitely need to consider booking if you want to grantee a table.we were lucky. We were searching for a place to meet friends and happened upon this hidden gem. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table upstairs. The seven of us sat down and began chatting. The staff were courteous and attentive, taking our orders after we had a chance to peruse the menu. The food was absolutely exceptional. We all ordered the Minstrel breakfast and were impressed with the perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, black pudding, and hash browns. The hash browns were particularly noteworthy, with a crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior unlike the soggy versions found at other establishments.
