"We were in the mood for a roast and decided to treat my sister-in-law, so we called ahead and booked a table for three. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a gentleman who didn’t smile and informed us that we had only booked for two, which wasn’t correct. He didn’t say much for a minute, leaving us standing awkwardly until he eventually asked us to follow him to our table. Our waitress, however, was lovely and polite. She took our drink orders and gave us tickets for the carvery. When we went up, the man behind the counter also didn’t smile or speak. We told him what meat we wanted, but the portions were quite small, though I assume that’s the standard practice. Once we sat down to eat, the food was delicious, and we really enjoyed it. The only issue was that our drinks didn’t arrive. After some time, my husband asked a waitress about them, and she quickly checked and brought them over, apologizing for the delay. She kindly removed the drinks from the bill, which we appreciated. Another waitress also apologized, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a good meal, but I think our experience would have been much better if the two gentlemen had been more welcoming and communicative. Despite that, I would definitely recommend the carvery at Rettendon Lodge."

Took my dad here for the Sunday carvery. Lots of great options and meats were cooked perfectly. Jane the chef was very welcoming too. Would come again

Very good food. All 3 courses were good, the Brushetta starter was particularly good. Service was quick considering the relatively large number in our group.

Great for lunch with friends. I recommend the nourish bowl. I had mine with goats cheese and balsamic glaze. Superb. Helpful staff offering m a choice of dressings and checking that our meals met our expectations.

Hannah g, James are such lovely people who made us feel welcome and at home.. Hannah a lovey bubble lady made us laugh giving us ice for our wine.. love these two defo need pay rise especially Hannah g being on her second week

Hannah J is a lovely staff membe, who is deffo the entertainer of the hotel such a lovely , bubble lady.. we love her also James is amazing and apparently trains the staff I think he’s lying lol) but he’s great as well love this pub/staff will defenatly be back Voir le carte

brought my Aunt here for Sunday lunch we both had the carvery. There were 5 different meats on offer: lamb/beef/turkey/pork and gammon all looked delicious, and we were given plenty of it. The variety of veg was amazing, and the roast potatoes were to die for! Our drinks waiter Roman was friendly and attentive, without being annoying, and Jane the Chef was also very friendly and helpful. A very pleasant experience that will be repeated.

We visited here for our godsons’s 2nd birthday. There were 9 of us (6 adults and 3 kids). The menu was amazing such a big selection including a fab Vegan menu. The majority of us had the carvery and the portions were huge and super tasty. Jane who was serving the food was so friendly and also arranged a card for the birthday boy which was so sweet! Our server Marc was really helpful and patient with us as it took us a while to order because of the huge choice! We were really impressed and will definitely be back with our friends and families. Thank you!
