"booked here for my mum and sister as my partner is local to the area and had told us lovely things (so had his family) We arrived on Monday, the place was empty, pub not open and noone around. My partner went inside to find someone to get a key to pay for the two nights. After we paid and got chatting to the lady behind the bar, she said the live and let live was too much for them and they were trying to sell it. When we got into the room, it was obvious that the place hadn 't recieved a clean the whole lockdown, which you would imagine would have been done? Cobwebs on appliances, fridge was turned on by the gentleman who arrived 5 mins after we got the key, with a TV (no remote). the electric was turned off to the room and half the lights didn 't work. The doors, wardrobe and window had been primered but not painted, the towel stand in the bathroom was so rusty, it was unstable, there was soap marks (from previous lodgers) up the walls in the bathroom, the complimentary soaps, shampoo etc were already opened and half used. No curtains up in the room, but curtian pole was there, full of cobwebs and coat hangers. Also dead flies rolled up in the blinds. Light switches were brown. My mother and sister went out to buy anti-bacterial wipes to clean (as when they went to find someone, the place was empty, not a person in sight, also noone answering the phone in the pub) Lamp shades had stains on them and the bed sheets had mould spots on them and the bathroom ceiling was mouldy too. There was other peoples items in the bedside tables everything was covered in a good thick layer of dust! We paid for bed and breakfast on the understanding that the guests would get a choice of either a continental breakfast or a full English, its a good job we ere visiting family or they would have starved in their room! Not a soul to be seen the whole 2 night and 3 days they stayed. We have rung the company who we have booked with and the live and let live have refused to speak to us, acknowledge our issues or issue a refund. This is obviously not acceptable and I hope for the pubs sake that someone manages to buy this and turn it back into the beautiful place that my partner his family remember! The place has great potential its a shame to see it get such a bad reputation! £170 is alot to pay for a dirty room. Do not be fooled by the pictures on the booking sights! They are from 2012 when the previous owners had the pub!!"

I haven't stayed here, just had a drink in the garden at the end of a walk...everything looks like it's coming on for the name change, just concerned sign says dinning room not dining room??

I apologize for my review of this place, as it has been closed for almost a year and is not scheduled to reopen until May. I didn't realize that the venue had a soft opening before its official opening in May.

sa in the garden and had lunch. the lookout is fantastic and eating is also very good. the personal is so beautiful that nothing was a problem that they left out of the way to make sure everything was in order. great menu they won't be disappointed.

we were close and visited the pub lunch and evening and it was very quiet both times. but the service was fast and friendly and we enjoyed the beer. I think there's a restaurant area, but we were in the bar as we had a dog. there is a parking space and a garden.

We stayed nearby and visited the pub lunchtime and evening and it was very quiet both times. However the service was quick and friendly and we enjoyed the beer. I believe there is a restaurant area but we stayed in the bar area as we had a dog. There is a car park and garden.

The restaurant is currently okay, but it has been sold and new management will be taking over soon, so it has the potential to be fantastic. It is a very relaxing spot away from all the hustle and bustle. The outdoor area is beautiful, offering views of the surrounding fields. I really enjoyed the rural charm of the countryside setting.

I just ate a meal. 6 of us. very nice eating! very nice staff. very friendly. good quality food according to my opinion. worth a visit. our first time there. will definitely go back. beautiful building. comfortable environment. the best, it was quiet and we could talk without screaming! it was a Monday, but so I guess, expect it to be less quiet on other days. certainly recommend!

I do not recommend this restaurant. Despite the lack of hospitality from the owner, we were excited to try the fish and chips after a nice long walk in the hills. However, we were disappointed when our meals arrived. The fish was not good and the chips were dry. We were not informed that they were out of tartare sauce, which would have affected our choices. To make matters worse, there was no discount or complimentary drink offered to address our dissatisfaction. Additionally, the owner tried to charge the kids the adult price for their meals. Overall, we felt cheated and unsatisfied with our experience.

"I booked a room for a wedding along the road and called ahead to explain that one member of our party was in a wheelchair and another had walking difficulties, so we needed ground floor rooms with accessible showers. However, we were not informed that the rooms were located in an old outside building instead of the pub itself. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find that the accommodation was not suitable for our group, as there were three steep stone steps with no support rails to access the rooms. One of our party actually fell while trying to navigate these steps, resulting in injuries to their ankle, knee, and head. My husband had to assist me, as well as my sister and her husband, who has limited mobility, in and out of the rooms. The rooms were very basic, with long cables running from the front door to the TV on the wall and draped over the radiator. Our bathroom was located up a steep flight of stairs, which was potentially dangerous for me during the night. For breakfast, we were only offered a sparse selection of cereal, a refillable bottle of unknown milk, and one carton of orange juice. We opted to have breakfast at a local cafe down the road, which we found to be delicious and highly recommended. Confusion also arose regarding the checkout time, as there was no information displayed in the room except for fire instructions. After contacting the staff, we were initially told checkout was at 9:00 AM, but later informed it was at 10:00 AM. The saving grace of our stay was the evening meal, which was freshly prepared and very tasty."
