The pub is in a great location unfortunately I turned up for a drink

The waitress was a bit abrupt. The food mediocre . We didn’t get that feeling of warm welcome

We were somewhat let down to discover that 4 of the beers we tried were flat, so we ended up choosing the London Pale Ale. Voir le carte

The Lion Hotel in Farningham enjoys a prime position right by the river and is extremely popular with families in the Summer, and does get very busy. The

Open table booking had not registered and no space in restaurant. Initially put us in unused area of restaurant that was almost deserted but laid up. Upon trying to order at bar told not serving where we were shown to sit. Decided to stay as late to go elsewhere and ate in bar area. Food was good but not hot. Even extra gravy was warm. I came to this restaurant for a quick lunch with my family. We all ordered off the new vegan menu. The spiced chickpea, spinach, and eggplant burger was fantastic! We also tried the miso eggplant roll, which was also great - seasoned with chipotle sauce and very tasty. The pub is lovely, and I plan to take photos of the exterior next time once they fix the facade. There are plenty of seating options outside, including options for disabled individuals and families with children. There is also ample free parking, and the village of Farningham is beautiful. I will definitely be returning soon.

Have been a few times over the years and wanted to review our Saturday night as soon as we walked in we could tell it was very busy and they were very short staffed. Usually a recipe for disaster however the staff were all incredibly polite (whilst literally running around to serve everyone) and explained that they were short staffed and apologised in advance. Couldn’t fault any one at all, yes service was a little slower than usual but we were in no rush at all, and having been forewarned we weren’t too bothered anyway.
