"It amazes me but this place is good and has an Ok atmosphere, but every time I go in there seems to be a lack of customers.. beers are a bit hit and miss. During the week I get the impression that the staff are a little undertrained in most things changing barrels seems to be a constant theme. there have been many occasions that I have been in there and the staff have not been able to change barrels and have had to call for help to do it. This seems to me to show that the staff are not being respected as they appear to be neither confident enough or trained well enough manager never seems to be around in evenings unless its weekend.... but then I'm not in there every day I like the place been there many times prices are ok not great but ok for Bourne best value for cost v bar, but could be cleaner.particular attention needs to be paid to toilets as they are seldom clean and my wife says the ladies never has loo roll and all lights working !! I'm sure it isn't NEVER but that how it feels to her. I don't see the hourly toilet check sheet posted anymore so maybe they have stopped checking loos ... that's pretty backwards for a public place in this day and age.. lets be honest unless its weekends the staff are NOT rushed off their feet !Happy hour is good value, and works as wife's wine is also cheaper...sunday afternoons are busy as are sat when football is on. recently changed the football season ticket start of the season which now for me doesn't work as wife wine is no longer discounted and no stamp given for it, so stopped going in with her at weekends. overall its Ok. personally I think at the moment it doesn't seem to have a real identity its not a full on sports bar, or a child yes they are welcome but not that kid friendly pub or a drinkers pub or a dinner pub. It a little of everything and as such has nothing that it specialises in.sure that Ross will comment in his usual manner accusing me of bad grammar or by asking me to use the wetherspoons when it opens which incidentally I will defiantly as will most of the locals I talk to in here..but maybe if he actually took some criticism and actioned rectified things it would be GOOD for the bar"

Love the place reminds me of the royal vic. With a good old Phil Michael lookalike behind the bar. Lager is spot on and staff always have a friendly chat during less busy times

Booked the Jubilee for a private party, Jack the manager went out of his way to ensure the night went smoothly which it did! Food was lovely as it's off the menu but a buffet style. Definitely recommended..... Voir le carte

The food at this restaurant was tasty and they had some great deals available, but we were disappointed that our starters arrived at the same time as our main course. Some improvements in timing could be made.

Generally I enjoy the Jubilee. Staff of always friendly and a warm welcome awaits. Recently however it has been too cold to stay!Really don't want to keep my coat on when I have a drink. When it's warmer we have eaten here. The lasagne is very good and they welcome children.

I love the Jubilee Garage however last week was very disappointing with no lager on so we had to go to smiths. Smiths is ok but I love the atmosphere at the Jubilee so it wasn't the night I planned. As long as they can keep on top of this I would highly recommend the Jubilee Garage as the atmosphere is great, a much friendlier bar and the food is great! Staff and manger have turned the Jubilee around!!! Voir le carte

We have been many times always enjoyed it with family and friends children love it.Just beware on the 9pm kitchen closed rule they will not even serve desserts even if you are 2 courses into a meal and children ask for ice cream after 9pm, poor poor poor ,shame.I do understand there is a cut off but when you still have a tab open really ?It's just same over the road at smiths should have known it would happen lightning strikes twice.

I'm a regular at the Jubilee on a Friday lunchtime, a warm welcome always awaits, the manager seems very attentive and always has smile on his face. The menu is somewhat basic but the food served is always of a good standard. My husband has also commented in the past that the pub is very good for the football and that the beer is generally good but can be pricey. My only criticism would be the cleanliness of the toilets can sometimes be iffy, when mentioned to the manager he has always apologised and I've even seen him go in with a mop and bucket, Overall a good bar.

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
