"So I booked this place for 19 people to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had 5 different families with their children and had the worst experience I have ever had!! We booked here specifically as I personally do not like a carvery however I think a carvery would be better than the roast dinner I received here. 3 of us had a lamb roast to which it was fatty and acquired a weird bitter taste. The carrots were hard and far too big and to top it off the roast potatoes were soft. The stuffing was horrible and looked more like an onion bargee and there was just a silly lump of shredded cabbage. The selection of vegetables was a joke. The whole dinner was tasteless however the 2 people with beef said the beef was cooked nice. 2 people had burgers, 1 being a child and the other an adult and both couldn’t eat the burgers as they were far too over cooked. 1 small child had fish fingers but these were rockhard and far too overcooked. The service was from the waitresses were very poor. They never came to ask us if we needed anything and how the food was. They staff were not friendly and welcoming atall and the whole experience was a disaster. I was told that a manager would be out to speak to me but this did not happen. It was my 30th birthday and I was so disappointed by the whole day. It completely ruined it, I did not have a nice day atall and I certainly will not visit for food again!!! After spending over £200 and leaving hungry, no I certainly would not recommend!!"

60mins plus for 2 paninis, an omelette and a side of chips. Very poor service and very little communication. Nearly £10 for an omelette

This pub just keeps on giving, the food was delicious, the staff excellent, the village setting delightful and spotlessly clean throughout. A truly relaxing lunch with friends, thank you.

We stumbled upon this quaint garden oasis after our walk and were pleasantly surprised. As new residents of Sywell, we thoroughly enjoyed the good food and service with no complaints. We will definitely be returning to dine and drink here again.

We waited for more than an hour for our food, which arrived looking less than appetizing. My meal looked like it had been sloppily thrown onto the plate, so I refused to eat it. The kids burger was overcooked and the fish meal was forgotten until we reminded them. Overall, it was not a great experience and I don't think the staff cared because no one asked us how our meal was. Voir le carte

Sunday lunch used to be a great meal at the Horseshoe, a side dish of seasonal veg, home made roast potatoes and yourkshire pudding, selection of Roasts that actually were from joints of meat, well £15 for pre-sliced beef, carrots and frozen pea, (not seasonal veg) roast potatoes and yorkshires that were also frozen, not appetizing and not value for money , nobody asked if we would like dessert, staff young and very inexperienced, its no wonder it was empty on a Bank Holiday weekend

We only dropped in for a lunchtime snack but we had such a good time I felt I had to write a review. Our sandwiches were delicious. Mine was crammed with very tasty cheese, my companion’s full of delicious prawns. We sat outside in the beautifully kept garden. The staff were so friendly and helpful. At one stage it started to rain slightly so one of them found us an umbrella and put it up for us. I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ and how much we appreciated being properly looked after by caring and efficient staff in a lovely, well cared for setting. Will certainly be returning!

Visited last weekend as a family of 10 to celebrate parents birthdays. As we came on the Sunday, there was a Sunday menu so a little bit different to the menu online. No complaints for the food, everyone was pleased. Was impressed that all came out at the same time which is a big plus with such a large order. Service from the girls who served us were lovely. We all ordered a dessert too and all eaten up quickly Drink choices at the bar were good too, lovely non alcoholic cider available too which is great. Outdoor area is a big bonus, nice well kept lawn area for the children to have some fun also has an outdoor climbing frame but perfect for size of garden. Ample outdoor seating. Car park... We attended the Horseshoe in Sywell for Mother’s Day, unfortunately there is no good way to describe the food that was served to us. We ordered a Sunday roast, and what was delivered to our table was what has to be described as the most pathetic attempt of a roast dinner. Beef that was as thin and as tasteless as a piece of paper, gravy that was just watery, roast potatoes that appeared to be from the freezer that still hadn’t been fully cooked, the lack of veg, not even a carrot in sight, I have to say o was extremely disappointed, the horseshoe had a amazing reputation years ago and unfortunately it doesn’t live up to now how it used to be! The sign outside states freshly sourced local foo...

I called ahead to confirm if the restaurant was dog-friendly. They said it was, but dogs were only allowed in the bar area. This was fine, but we were a bit put off by some rowdy football fans at another table. My companion needed a gluten-free, vegan meal and the only option was a baked potato with baked beans, which was okay. Since we weren't looking for a full meal, we each had a baked potato - I had tuna. Along with two glasses of lime and soda, our bill came to over 16 pounds. It seemed a bit pricey, but I guess pubs are now realizing that non-alcoholic drinks can be profitable. When our potatoes arrived, they were accompanied by the smallest salad I've ever seen, including a dried-out...

"wow, what a jewel! my wife and I ate on Sunday afternoon on this “plum” of a restaurant. I was amazed to have studied the menu before booking to see that a very large of the dishes in the offer shown free as gluten, something that has now paramount recently been diagnosed with celiac disease. there was a free dish served by popcorn, which had been aromatized with its own wobble the flavor of the restaurant, which was a real tastener. we followed with the curry goat, which served as a generous part, reisbäsen, a part curry goat gravy, jerk ripen, plantain, homemade coleslaw, and fries, who had blown the same twist of hurdles as the popcorn on them. we also chose some of the immersing sauces to give an additional hauch of choking only for the case. we have the idea of ordering also a plastered steak (they know how it is when they are really hungry), but were recommended against this by the dame who advised our order that the portions were quite generous and we had ordered a lot, and moreover we could always add to the order when our food had arrived. we also ordered a bottle of pino grigio to ash it al down. What do you want me to say? this was by far the best tasting and well cooked and served Caribbean cuisine that we have experienced, it was exceptional. we had no place for a pudding, but there was a lot to choose on the menu. When the bill came, we were thrilled and amazed that it all came around 60, which also excellent price-performance ratio. we will definitely be back, I recommend this jewel. enjoys!"
