"DON 'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!.. Ordered a veggie burger and specifically asked not to have the chutney in the burger due to an allergy so I asked for it to be on the side. When it arrived it was a soggy burger, with the chutney. I asked for a replacemnet to be met with a very rude waiter who made us feel as we were an inconvenince and our mistake, he was basically rude and did not once apologise for their mistake or the extra waiting time. After waiting abut 15 minutes and my partner finishing his food, it finally arrived. The chips were cold, again the burger all soft and falling apart, the bun looked like it was reused given a good 'squeeze, it was also too small for the burger ' and generally looked awful and unappetising. We decided to leave and went to settle the bill, discuss what we would be charged, and put a compliant in to the manager . We asked a young woman behind the bar if we could talk to the manager. We were told the manager refuse to come to the bar to talk to us and if we wanted to talk to her we had to go 'round the conrer '.I requested she come to the bar as did not feel comfortable 'going round the corner ' and did not understand such a 'strange ' request.The staff member relayed this but she again refused and we could hear her saying 'if she wants to fu##ing talk to me she will have to come here ' this was said numerous time so we then went round the bar to her, she then 'RAN ' away through the restaurant despite us calling her, she was shouting abuse as she ran. I would also like to add that my partner and I are professional people in our late forties, we do not expect to have to deal with this type of behaviour when all we want is a quiet evening meal. We also have 20 years in the catering/hospitality industry and if we had employed staff that behaved like they would have been fired on the spot!.. We will also be sharing our experience on all media platforms as possible so nobody else has to experience this. Please do not waste your money or time at this awful place. Shame on you Heart of Oak!..."

The friendly staff at this bustling pub greeted us warmly, with darts and pool games already in full swing. The beer was top-notch and the food was not only affordable but also beautifully presented. We'll definitely be returning soon.

I couldn’t disagree more with the last review, I visited last weekend and the atmosphere was brilliant and certainly helped by the welcome given by the landlady and her staff. What was meant to be a couple of drinks turned into a bit of a session. Well done guys you run a great public house and is just what a local should be. Voir le carte

The bar staff and Chef Scott were very attentive to ensure my meal was gluten-free. I had the hunters chicken with a chocolate brownie and ice cream, but they were willing to customize other menu options for me. They have separate fryers to avoid cross-contamination, and gluten-free rolls for burgers. I love having this restaurant as my local spot!

I stopped for a quick £5 lunch.....always such good value, I had tasty plentiful ham, well cooked egg and super chips and the chips in particular were excellent, and all served with a smile. The pub is set up well safe play area for children, tv's for the sports fanatics, outside tables and parasols for good weather and Colin the landlord is always good humoured even in this hard times. Glad he was open on a Monday as many are not and so are missing a trick!

We gathered with some of our family for dinner at this restaurant and had a wonderful evening. Although the usual practice is to order food and drinks at the bar, a friendly waiter served us at our table. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and talkative. Our food arrived promptly and was hot and delicious. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, making it a great value. Overall, it was a fantastic evening and we will definitely be coming back. Voir le carte

We had a fantastic evening, thanks to the great food, service and staff! We were a family of 9 and the family dog. We sat in the beer garden and had a lovely meal. The staff were very attentive and food was great couldn't asked for more. The menu has a good selection and caters for all needs as one of is GF. The meals were delicious and to be honest we couldn't fit a desert. It was all set up for COVID19, with a clear one way system and all the necessary precautions so it was great and would definitely recommend to anyone who may be cautious at this time. We arrived yesterday with friends. When we first got there the man who served us was lovely. Later on in the evening, the land lady came round to take our order and serve us some drinks. However we did forget to order one drink so one of my friends apologised ask to order this certain drink. The lady was very rude about and spoke to us in a disgusting manner. She then later came back with our drinks, I was sat on the table whilst my friends went outside for a cigarette. She then said to me in such a abrupt rude manner who’s paying for these drinks.
