"We had high hopes for this restaurant, known as the top spot in Lingfield. The welcome and service were lovely, and the atmosphere was cozy. I didn't pay attention to the price of the special beef dish because the overall pricing seemed reasonable, but I was taken aback when it turned out to be just under 30 pounds. The crab starter was disappointing, with only a few small pieces of crab mixed in with the greens. My beef portion was smaller than expected, but still tasty. Thankfully, my wife's pork dish was excellent."

my man and I had Sunday dinner here last week and both enjoyed the main thing that the booze and the mais fed huh, both excellent. also had a sweet everyone who was heavenly. will come back in the future.

This restaurant offers some classic pub dishes, but overall, it stands out as a gastro pub with delicious taste combinations executed with French flair. The atmosphere is quirky and comfortable, although it may be on the quieter side during the week. It is definitely my favorite restaurant and I highly recommend it.

Food was at best average. Expensive and then you have to pay for your sides on top. Chips £4.95!!! Would not eat here again, building needs external decoration as do the toilets. If a pub is full then normally a very good sign this pub was empty now we know why. Sharpen your act or reduce your high prices. One positive comment the waiting staff were very polite and efficient. We were rather disappointed with our evening at the Hare Hounds. We had to ask for the music to be turned down so we could talk comfortably. There was a draught around our legs. The service was extremely indifferent. We waited ages to place our order despite there being only 2 other diners. We asked for tartare sauce only to be told there was none surely a staple in most restaurants ? The food itself was fine, but there was generally a lack of concern.

We ate at the Hare and Hound on Easter Sunday and it was surprisingly very quiet. Although the restaurant was quiet there were a few occasions where we were left waiting for a waitress but overall the service was very good. The only down side is that there are no baby changing facilities at the restaurant so I was encouraged to change my baby on a rather small ledge over the hand basin. There are also no high chairs for babies but they do have a booster seat.
