"We had a 2 night stay here and it didn't disappoint. Our room was in a out building to the side of the pub. The room was a perfect size for us with a walk in shower. We were supplied with tea making facilities, 2 big bottles of water, eye masks and ear plugs. Plenty of towels, soap and shower gel. So I'd say it's definitely value for money. The staff were very polite and friendly and couldn't do enough for us which was nice. The car park gets very busy and i couldn't get a space at first until a big later. The pub wasn't serving food but there are other ways of getting a meal in the village. It has a beautiful setting over looking the green. I would definitely stay here again."

This charming pub offers ample seating both indoors and outdoors. They serve excellent ale on tap, and there's a children's playground nearby to keep the little ones entertained.

Wonderfully restored local village public house with a range of real ales and drinks. The staff are open and friendly and you feel at peace as soon as you enter the door. They also rent out small rooms next the pub and while they don't do food the atmosphere and welcome more than make up for it. Be aware, that the name five bells is due to the church bells next door that have been ringing on time for decades. For me it is the call of the countryside for others an annoyance. Voir le carte

A great pub to stop at during our hiking round between Clan and Cavendish. They have a good selection of beer on tap. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and we even had a sweet little dog with us. The snack menu was nice; my friends ordered the two-person platter, which was a fantastic value for the money. They also had rugby playing on TV, just as we were hoping. There are plenty of outdoor seats as well, making it perfect for warm weather. I will definitely return if we're in the area again!

A wonderful little place to stay, exactly what it says on the tin. You walk in to a clean and fresh room with all you need for a short stay and to the rear you have your own bathroom. Very well lit, tv, coffee making facilities, clean white fluffy towels and white bedding. Very impressed with the standard of the room. The rooms are next to the pub so you don’t hear any ‘pub noise’. There is a church opposite that chimes on the hour, a lovely sound if you ask me but you do get a set of ear plugs if it isn’t for you. And finally the family running the pub, very warm and welcoming. Couldn’t be more helpful to you. We will definitely be back for another stay. Thank you :

"When we arrived, everything seemed fine initially, but then the food was served. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves—burnt dishes, undercooked items, and missing components made up a long list of complaints. Eventually, I was asked to have a private meeting with the manager, Nicki, to discuss our experience. She acknowledged the issues and agreed that we wouldn’t have to pay for the food, promising that her husband would call me shortly. When he did call, he accused me of "ranting at his wife and making her cry," which anyone who knows me would find hard to believe. He insisted he was coming to the restaurant and would take 45 minutes to get there for a one-on-one meeting. While I wouldn’t mind this, the other 11 guests were equally upset and wanted to meet him as well. When he arrived, he confronted me in front of everyone, repeating that I had made his wife cry. However, he refused to let her come and talk to me about it. He mentioned issues with previous chefs being bullied and said they had a new chef from Indeed, although I'm not sure why that was relevant. He claimed that missing items from our plates were due to us not including them on the spreadsheet we provided. So even though the festive menu listed "burger with fries, coleslaw, and pigs in blankets," we only received the burger and fries because we only typed "burger." He did offer us a free meal, which we declined after the treatment we received, and Richard also offered to refund our drinks bill, which we also turned down because, despite the terrible food, we had enjoyed our wine. I’ve always been a supporter of The Bell and considered it a great pub for drinks, but after this experience and the way we were treated, including the baseless accusations, I regret to say that we won’t be returning—especially since there are other places in Clare that provide better service without such issues."
