"So we were visiting my daughter in Uni and walked past this place and it looked nice, we went in and asked for a table but they said they were fully booked but had some seats outside, it was a lovely day so we decided to eat outside. Anyway we ordered at the bar very reasonable price and then headed for the food. Let me just say this point that the Chief on the day 15/10/23 was super friendly and really made the effort, he even asked if would would like more meat first time I've been asked that in a Carvery his smile and friendliness really made the difference, infact all the staff were smiling and polite. The food was lovely and fresh and tasty, the kids ones 18 lol didn't have the roast dinner but they also loved there food as well. This was my first time here but it wont be my last but as the winter months are coming i will book in Advance. Once again I will say the Chef and the staff were brilliant"

the customer service is so-so, they have forgotten the part of my friend in chips and left a part of my meal. However, their vegan menu is in comparison to many places, and eating is really delicious and good quality. they do not often get an English pub with vegan eating! would recommend

when I'm away from home with my work, that's what I want, a good solid food and a decent pint. this evening in the farmer’s union I got dipped tofu with muddy heaps and chips, followed by apfel and treacle tar with soy cream. and reasonable beer. happy, happy, happy. good food well presented. we came to a late Friday afternoon and enjoyed dipped tofu with cramps, and spaghetti with vegan meatballs as well as a very tasty crumb with ice while sitting outside in sunshine. the food was presented very nicely, tasted great, and the personal was attentive. would like to visit the farmer’s union pub more often.

My friends and I went to a carvery at this restaurant over the weekend. We made a reservation before arriving in Exeter. It was good value for the money, but unfortunately the food wasn't very hot. The vegetable options were not great and there wasn't a wide selection. The pigs in blankets did have blankets, though.

I have eaten twice here and it is ideal to meet friends in the center of exeter. they provide all diets carnivorous, vegetarian and have an extensive vegan option. the Christmas meal was great and excellent at around £16 to 18 a head for 2 or 3 courses included with coffee. friendly atmosphere. great for vegan and sweet eating with meat eating friends as they are forever. We ordered steak meals and the steaks tasted like they had been cooked in the fish fryer and you could not taste the steak Also the menu on pub website is out of date as the prices are higher and on the website it says there a variety of potatoes types to choose from but today it was a choice of chips or mash ,the meal also tasted a bit greasy ,we did not feel it was worth the money we paid

We went to this restaurant today for a Sunday carvery and were blown away by the amazing food. We had never had a Sunday roast like this before! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I want to give a special shoutout to Michael, the chef, who went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable, especially for our 9-year-old son. He even played a game of pool with him! Michael is a lovely man and a true asset to the establishment. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Exeter.
