"I spontaneously decided to visit this restaurant and was warmly greeted upon arrival, quickly seated at a fantastic table. The menu may not have been extensive, but there were plenty of options to choose from. The waitress provided helpful descriptions and recommendations, which greatly assisted us in making our selections. The food was expertly prepared and incredibly delicious – it was clear that the chef was skilled. We plan on returning very soon. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and food all received perfect scores. I highly recommend trying the Twice Baked Parmesan Souffle. Price range for a meal is £30-40 per person."

"This is our second visit to this charming and clean coffee house, with delicious food options. Last time, I enjoyed the venison burger with pasta salad, while my husband had the brie burger with pasta salad. Both burgers were flavorful, as was the pasta. Today, the venison burger was still available, but I opted for stovies with beetroot and oatcakes. My husband ordered the chicken fajita, cheese, and pesto ciabatta, which I had a taste of and found delicious with a hint of pesto. Both dishes came with a side salad and beetroot. My stovies were particularly tasty, and the beetroot was a delightful addition. We also enjoyed a glass of milk with our meal, which felt very Scottish. "This charming restaurant located outside of town also has a take-away fish and chip shop attached. We sat in the bright and airy conservatory with lovely views, however, it was quite noisy and the sound echoed. Luckily, they offer a separate menu for those with gluten sensitivities, which was perfect for my wife who suffers from Coeliac Disease. We dined with a friend and enjoyed the Pie of the day (steak and white pudding with flaky pastry top), chicken schnitzel, and buttered chicken for my wife. All the dishes were beautifully presented, hot, and delicious. We even had room for dessert, which included a Cowshed sundae, ice creams and sorbet, and a gluten-free rice pudding with compote and sorbet. It was a very relaxed evening, aside from the noisy table. I have already made a reservation for next week, this time opting for indoor seating. The restaurant also features modern toilets and a spacious car park."

"We spent two nights earlier this month at the hotel for a wee break and to visit old haunts in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. All the staff, we interacted with, were extremely friendly and helpful across all roles. Special mention to the young waiting staff and their enthusiastic approach to their roles and the future of the hotel as it continues to develop under new ownership. We wish them well in their further education and future career paths. Jenny, the new owner, is extremely commited to her staff and the hotels future developments. The bedroom and some areas looked a bit tired but we understand that refurbishments are being undertaken soon. We had dinner on our second evening and found the menu and food excellent. We highly recommend residents or non residents book one meal at least. We plan to revisit in the future and look forward to seeing the changes that are made by Jenny and her dedicated staff. Nearby activities: Anywhere in Royal Deeside is worth visiting, beautiful area. The hotel is well located for this. Food drinks: Very good Breakfast/Dinner menu choices. Food was excellent. Noteworthy details: Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel about to have extensive refurbishments which will make it an even more worthwhile place to book and stay. Lift unfortunately was out of order but due for repair the day we left."

"Stopped here on our visit to the Royal Deeside, what a mistake. £18.90 for a coffee and two paninis! We were waiting 20 minutes for our take away paninis. Not a clue how as they were barely cooked, bread soft as anything, very little filling! Such a waste of money! £18.90 for a small coffee and two paninis on their own… no salad, no crisps! Absolutely disgusting for a take away. Not sure how they get off with it. Don’t recommend unless you want to be ripped off."
