"First things first, this is an expensive pub. It’s part of Young’s chain and as that it, looks like most other establishments of said chain. Don’t get this wrong, it’s as cosy, clean and in good condition as any other Young’s, this comes at a literal price, however. The food and beer are pricey so much, that I can even say they’re overpriced. The food portions are rather on the smallish side. Taste wise I do not see any reason to justify the expense. Out of the couple of times I have attended the place,I can remember two occasions rather distinctly. Once I had the dish from my plate spilt on me by the waiter, and a second time the meat was quite noticeably overcooked. Beer and cider prices are, like I said before, horrendous."

Used the Duke's Head for our wedding celebration, and it was wonderful! Very attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and very tasty food! Recommended! Can’t fault the food at The Dukes Head. Eaten lunch and dinner here a few times and every time the quality is superb and portions are great. Natalie and Neil run a very efficient friendly team and always happy and accommodating.
