"My husband and I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with another couple. Although it was quite busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive throughout our visit, despite clearly being overwhelmed. The menu offered a great selection of roasts and other main dishes; we opted for the roast, sharing beef, pork, and the roast chicken of the day. All of the roasts were excellent, and the portion sizes were quite generous. We also shared cauliflower cheese (which was just okay) and stuffing (which was superb). The vegetables included cabbage, roasted carrots, and parsnips, all perfectly cooked. We were already quite full, but the dessert options were too appealing to resist! The apple crumble was our least favorite, as the crumble-to-custard ratio was heavily skewed towards the crumble. However, the pear tarte tatin was very good, and the blackberry trifle was delicious! Overall, it was an excellent lunch, and we look forward to returning!"

Another lovely lunch here. Nice staff and good harty fare. I had the vegan mushroom pie and my husband had the chicken schnitzel. We will continue to come here regularly.

Nice food, very busy. Would advise booking table ahead. Service was good except waiter brought us glasses for table water then forgot to bring the water to the table. Other than this mistake everything else was fine.

had the delicious Rump steak. cooked on perfection medium rare. the pfeffer grain sauce was different, strong. chips were also beautiful, perfect portion ready for dessert! chocolate ice cream was beautiful. also had the malbec, which was well paired.

I was greeted by a beautiful young boy who showed me to my table and felt very relaxed. the bratbeef was delicious, and the waitress brought me extra serious. I finished with coffee with smarties as a competition four. if they're in the opposite, it's worth a visit.

I have a place to dinner at the arrival. very nice pub, with a menu to fit. the atmosphere was calm and the staff was very friendly and helpful. the children's menu had enough to choose my son without being over camp and the food quality was good. a nice pub, with decent food at a reasonable price. would they visit again.

Only having been outside for their pop up coffee shop and for some lunch it is not a bad spot. I am keen to go inside when the weather drops off. I have to say their cheese toastie is fantastic! The mac n cheese not so great, it was just bechamel sauce, pasta and no cheese. The main road makes it a touch noisey to sit outside.

we have broken the herduke of wellington, as eating in our region went downhill after a large pubco chain was taken over. we may be relieved that a decent gastro-pub will remain in our neighbour! we had a series of meal times with different menus and still have a great disappointment to experience (salted caramel tart was an experience that we did not repeat, but otherwise the food and service was perfect.
