"Came to this place as the Google reviews was great, but don't be fooled, the fish I received was very soggy and oily and so was my girlfriends sausage and batter! You would expect it to have some sort of crunch! The chips was okish and they use cheap tartar sauce packets. Overall we won't be coming back. My suggestion is go to the CodFather in Abergavenny, much better local fish bar :"

"We have had two Sunday lunches here recently whilst our kitchen was being fitted. The meat is always sooooo tender and good portions. The service is very good even though they are always busy. Our daughter rated their Nut Roast as being one of the best she’s ever had in a restaurant. Very lucky to have this on our doorstep. Oh, and dogs are very welcome everywhere."

"Food and Drinks: Our expectations for The Vine Tree were quite high, but we ended up feeling a little disappointed. On the positive side, the menu offers a more interesting selection than most places in the area. The restaurant staff were attentive and skilled, which was fantastic. However, the quality of the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. It seems like the chef may have overdone it with the salt, as all our savory dishes were heavily seasoned; otherwise, the flavors were excellent. Two of us ordered dishes with king prawns, but they turned out tough and rubbery, which was disappointing. On the bright side, the duck was delicious and perfectly cooked. The steak was good but not exceptional; with so many venues serving steak, it’s hard to truly stand out. Overall, we found it difficult to add The Vine Tree to our “must eat here again” list."

"Went there to celebrate our little boys 5th birthday, initial impressions were good, we had a table and were seated, staff were friendly, drinks orders were taken and our boy was given some colouring to do, our food order was taken and so far all was well.. then the food took ages to arrive, (there were 5 of us) the first 2 meals came out, the chicken supreme looked good but the cod with vegetables looked like a starter although both were tasty, 5 minutes passed before my sons lasagne (children's menu) came out, looked good but had the temperature of lava, no warning that the plates were hot either, another 5 minutes and the burger that I ordered came out, with the incorrect fries so the server apologised and took it back, another 5 minutes and it came back with the correct fries along with the final meal which was the pie off the specials board, that came with mash which was incorrect, should've been chunky chips, so that went back, whilst this was happening I bit into my burger, only to find out that it wasn't the burger I ordered, the pie came back and I informed the server that the burger was incorrect, he went to take it away but by that time we we're just so annoyed and we just wanted to eat, I told them to just leave it, not once were we asked about our meals or for extra drinks, what we had was tasty but the overall experience was awful."

"What a great pub. Good food, just had a Massive New Yorker Butger and fries, with onion rings, slaw and salad on a wooden platter. Excellent fresh coffee too and I had a freezing cold Desperado with a chunk or lime. This was mid afternoon too, on a Wednesday. Do not eat anywhere else in Crick, especially the Bear, which is mediocre if you're lucky and top dolkar. We were made most welcome on artival,by a lovely chap behind the Bar, not sure if he was the landlord. Setvice was fast and accurate. Well done all at the Britannia you made our day. Da iawn, we'll be back in numbers next time, for sure. Top banana"
