we were at the cricketers for a family wedding close. the staff was very helpful and friendly. our room was excellent and comfortable. Tea/coffee facilities in our room and cookies. the food was nice. very generous portions. would definitely stay again and would recommend...family and friends.

what a nice fund this pub of the beaten stretch, we booked for my husband birthday, we all had the carvary it was delicious, the staff was very friendly helpful, they decorated our table even leaving a birthday card on the table., we even took a teller for our son who could not do it will go back to 100%. The Cricketers was very welcoming for our family dinner. They were clued up on allergies and had a good selection on menu, including a Sunday carvery with 4 meats. Dog friendly too with water and treats available. Not overly special on the beer front, but...3 pretty standard ales and 2 lagers on draught available. All in all would recommend!

We have been visiting the Cricketers Inn, Steep, for more than 20 years, off and on, according to what's been on offer. The pub has just reopened under new management, having been redecorated throughout. It looks amazing. The welcome was warm, the service was excellent,...as was the food, beers and wine. What more can one want from a pub? It was also lovely and warm on a cold summer's evening. Wishing you all success with this pub, which we love

With new management our local Cricketers re-opened last Friday 4th Dec, at last, so we tried em out. Nice fresh paint and a friendly welcome to go with a trad pub menu. After some years of disappointments we could do with a reliable local. Saturday's...meal was very encouraging. Fish and chips were cooked just right as was baked salmon for herself. Doom Bar was good too. Certainly worth it and we will return for their beef pie, said to be a signature dish.

I would not usually write a review for a Sunday roast in a pub, but this was unquestionably the best veg I’ve had with a roast. Quantity was great but also lots of variety with red cabbage; cauliflower cheese as well as all the usual...potatoes parsnips etc. Really exceptional and lovely people running it. For our vegetarian diner she just had the roast veg without any meat and it was better than 95% of veggie items. There were veggie choices as well! Go there!

we had an excellent experience. my fiancée is vegetarian and I'm a direct, mixed grill. eat portioned massiw too big to be honest. I wanted to try the desserts, but we both had no room that left fresh, vibrant and tasty dishes and the...we were very nice, especially the cleaner/waitress is a good one for her business. we both thought her menu was absolutely spot. it is nice to see a place that serves incredible food at a great price. the garlic mushrooms were nice, thank you

Straight to the food. Very good Sunday Roast, only minor points, pudding could of been a tad warmer served in a bow. When you have a good sticky toffee pud with plenty of sauce, you need it in a bowl surely.. Service was another...thing. If you use 12/14 year olds to serve, supervise them, train them, do something. I don't want my plate scraped in to another at the table, if you need make a couple of trips. Worse was to come, got the bill paid, sat waiting for the change, nothing, I had to ask for the change, it had gone straight in the tip jar, returned by the young boy(not the landlord) no apology or anything. I'm not blaming the young lad, it's lack of training/supervision maybe a little...

On a very wet drive to collect a dining table (think biblical and rivers for roads) we were running late for a meal at a chain restaurant closer to home (Brighton) We happened across this pub and tried our luck for a table for 5...at 1700. Not only did they have a table but they had an all day Carvery and had just refreshed the veg. The food is large portions and so tasty! Our kids all had small servings and this was more than enough. The ‘adult’ medium was huge and I don’t think we would have managed the large plate. Puddings are as you’d expect from a local pub. Moorish and large portions.
