"I have followed the Craftea Cafe on Instagram for a while now and have wanted to visit but weekends are usually busy for us. With a forecast of rain and blustery weather in the holidays we were looking for a place in Lincoln to meet up. My sister in law and I brought my 16 year old niece, 8 year old son and his friend. I messaged Bridie via Instagram the day before who advised me of the location and the kind of things on offer. Walking in as first timers, we were unsure of how it all worked (can some of these crafts really be free? but we were soon shown the ropes by the friendly staff. The kids shelf of crafts were great. The youngest ones chose cotton bags to print on, treasure chests to paint and stick letters on and embroidery. Kids crafts are £5 for 1st craft and £1 for each craft after, and includes a drink. We made a pom pom solar system and embroidered using hoops (all free! Help was always at the ready, the girls beind the counter were very accommodating and happy to set us all up and assist when needed. Afer arriving about 11.30, we got so engrossed in our crafts that we surprised ourselves by staying until 4pm! It turned out to be sunny all day, but we still wanted to stay indoors here. We were never made to feel like we'd outstayed our welcome, quite the opposite in fact. We all had a delicious lunch, a couple of drinks each and the children kindly given a free ice lolly. There's free drinks included in some crafts too. The girls said we could pay at the end of our time there. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Every single one of us had the most enjoyable time. My son and niece were both desperate to carry on sewing onto their designs. He was still still threading his plastic needle as we were trying to usher him out :D I've championed the Craftea Cafe to about 5 people so far. We will definately be returning and bring our mum's and friends too. Thank you for a fantastic day spanning a variety of ages."

This place is amazing and friendly. The drinks are good and the food is amazing just a short walk from the city centre, it’s well worth a visit.

Reading the sign at the back of the cafe sums up everything about this lovely little place. So much love has gone into the business and it really shows. The cake all homemade was delicious, the staff very friendly (we had gone for a free cress pot painting) made time to speak to my 2 girls. The board showed they have different events for creative minds. Highly recommend.

I booked afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What a thoroughly lovely experience. It was already set up for our arrival and looked absolutely amazing. Everything was freshly made and tasted utterly delicious. There was so much, we had to bring some home. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this little gem of a cafe. It feels so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

I organised a Christmas get together for my book craft group. From initial enquiry to the evening itself, the service was excellent. Communication was brilliant, the food was delicious and customer care was excellent. All dietary needs were catered for, it was reasonably priced and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely use the cafe for events in the future.

I love visiting the craftea cafe, bridie the owner and the other staff couldn’t be friendlier or make me and my little girl feel more welcome, this has been particularly appreciated since having a baby because I find that not everywhere has been very child friendly or made me feel that comfortable bringing in a baby. I’m not sure who likes going more, me or Iris! The cake is always amazing, they cater for vegetarians/vegans and gluten free, they’ve just introduced paninis which I haven’t tried yet but sound amazing, coffee and hot chocolate is great, and it’s craft themed so win win win in my eyes! Also we’ve been to the bumps and babies group on alternate Thursdays which has helped me make...

I've just returned from a delightful pre Birthday brunch at Craftea. Food excellent definitely healthy. I had a delicious homemade, red pepper soup with malted brown bread, a hot chocolate, which was very tasty had a creamier topping than the usual vanishing foam. Followed by a slice of cherry chocolate cake. All for little over £10. Friends had panini with chicken, pesto mozzarella, crisps side salad. Baked jacket spud with cheese, crisps side salad. The side salads were fresh, colourful alot better than the usual limp offerings you find. Cherry tomatoes, lettuce, sliced peppers, cucumber. Service was polite friendly. There was a happy buzz from the knit knatter group. The whole place is de...

"From the outside, it looks like another tacky eatery in a street lined with tacky takeaways. Walk through the door and pleasantly surprised. A little deli counter, a back room then a garden. The garden overlooks a derelict abandoned overgrown garden. Not a problem, I am used to this in Athens. What is the problem, and I don’t see in Athens, tenants throwing rubbish out of their windows into the garden. It is ideal breeding ground for rats. The local environmental health should investigate, and if needed carry out enforcement action. To sit outside or not? Maybe too cool when the sun went in, and too hot if it came out as no shade. I decided to sit inside, near the back door. A red rose on the table is a neat touch. I was the only diner. Oh but we were busier earlier. Strange how I am always told, if you’d have been here when you weren’t here, we were busy. The menu was singurly uninspiring. Why panini’s? Everywhere does paninis. I have never understood why. Or pasta. The choice penne (which I don’t like), or spaghetti (which I dislike slightly less) I chose spaghetti Bolognese. It arrived seemingly quick. I was asked when I placed my order, did I wish for Parmesan cheese? It was added in the kitchen. Usually brought to and added at the table. Spaghetti Bolognese is not an Italian dish. It was an artificial dish with elements of North and South. The spaghetti mediocre at best, the Bolognese sauce excellent. I was going to leave but decided to stay. I chose tiriamasiu for dessert. Coffee, Illy, no thanks. For coffee walk to Madame Waffle or Coffee Aroma. I visited a couple of weeks ago, the previous week I found closed."
