"We were recommended to try The Comedian by TripAdvisor. This unassuming pub, located on a main road, exceeded our expectations. Despite a rough day with the weather and traveling, stepping into the establishment felt like entering my grandma's cozy parlor, decorated with horse brasses, tea pots, vases, and comfortable sofas. Upon our arrival in the evening, we were warmly greeted by the 84-year-old proprietor, Davy, who seated us and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Despite the humble appearance, the food was exceptional. I enjoyed a delicious 16oz Sirloin steak with vegetables, mushrooms, onion rings, homemade chips, and pepper sauce. My wife and father-in-law both opted for the sizzling chicken breast and were pleased with their choices. The chocolate fudge cake with cream for dessert was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Davy entertained us with jokes and kept our drinks flowing, while his wife, the chef, joined us towards the end of the evening, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. The experience at The Comedian turned a bad day into a brilliant night, and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend visiting for their Sunday lunches, as I believe they are the best around. Don't miss out on a visit to The Comedian – you'll regret it if you do!"

We had the pleasure of booking a meal here when staying nearby. Lovely traditional place with lots of character and charm. Fab welcome and a great chat with the hosts when we arrived. The food was very good, cooked fresh and great value . Will definitely be back. Voir le carte

25 of us booked in the comedian Tara went above and beyond what we had asked for she ordered in seafood and lobster for our seafood platter, other meals included steaks n lamb chops lasagne. Everyone said it was beautiful, n we can’t wait to do it again. Thanks to u all

I called the pub/restaurant a week ahead to make a reservation for two and inform them that we are vegan. The kind lady who manages the establishment asked for our preferences, which surprised me, but we ultimately decided to leave it up to her. She prepared two tasty meals for us, one centered around a mushroom pie and the other a nut roast, both served with a creative mixed salad, corn on the cob, plenty of chips, and thick vegetable gravy. We highly recommend dining at this establishment.
