"We visited these tea rooms on the 23rd of September on the way home from Yorkshire, we ordered 3 cooked breakfasts, 2 lattes and a decaf tea, we had to wait a very long time for the food and when it arrived most of it was cold when we mentioned this to the lady serving she said it was because she had to leave the door open for the customers to come in and the draft was getting in the kitchen but the kitchen was nowhere near the door, also when we got home we noticed we had been charged for the drinks but the menus said tea and coffee came with the breakfast so we should have been told if certain drinks for example decaf tea were extra, The lady serving mentioned that they had only been there 3 days but this no excuse for cold food, We will not be returning"

Recently, we celebrated a friend's birthday with afternoon tea at The Chase. We opted for the unlimited prosecco menu and found it to be well worth the money spent.

one of the best afternoons I've ever had and I'm a day after tee! really cheap, and they can pay extra to have everything they can drink prosecco. the personal is also friendly. I'm back! Voir le carte

beautiful requiring little place, the homemade cake, coffee and a selection of hearty snacks and lunches served. difficult to say, a little negatiw next to the hand dryer is a little slow in the plough.

The food was delicious when it finally arrived, but it took over thirty minutes from ordering to being served. There were only three other couples seated before us. The waitress claimed that if we had made a reservation, we wouldn't have had to wait, which was a nonsensical remark. Voir le carte

First time eating out since March. Eat out help out scheme gave us 50% off our Afternoon Tea. Had a lovely private table to celebrate our birthdays. Staff were attentive but not overly, so we had good food, in a nice atmosphere with good company. What more could you ask for when after lockdown

The interior of the restaurant was eclectic, interesting, and fun, earning a perfect 10 in that regard. The staff were polite, helpful, cheerful, and efficient, also scoring a 10. The Sunday Carvery was delicious and well-cooked, earning a 9 overall; however, the meat portions were quite small. Despite the delicious taste and quality of the meat, the slices were thin and narrow, with only 2 small slices provided (one of each type of meat). While the meat quality was a 9, the portion sizes were only a 7. Despite this, the overall experience at the restaurant was enjoyable and would not deter me from returning in the future.

"The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
